Yeah it’s fine enough, been here 14 years, been able to transfer locations 3 times, good benefits, I get close to 6 weeks PTO a year, been flexible during the pandemic, the pay is pretty good, I don’t work outside my work hours

managing a team can suck and be awesome….the corporate bullshit can be annoying, but overall I can’t complain too much

WFH every day has been a blessing for our team. Our velocity is way up, much more efficient and productive as a whole.

Friday's are a complete ghost town because most of our team has already worked 50+ hours from Mon-Thurs. It's kind of understood now.

I still hate this fucking job. I could work 2 hours a week and I'd still hate working for what amounts to big pharma.

Work in large corporate which usually lends to hating it, but honestly like what I do and the people I work with. Overall pretty fortunate & happy with my job/career. That said, there's always those crazy weeks that make me reconsider everything.

Most painful thing of going from 5 years of my own boss and only me to worry about to then having an employee is giving them work that takes them 2x or more to do and it’s not always right. Life was so much easier when I could just knock everything out. On the plus side I worked half the OT in 2020 as 2019 and made the same amount of money.

Sales jobs are awful for a variety of reasons but the high turnover and watching people you’ve grown to like working with get the ax because they didn’t meet a bullshit metric is probably the worst

I don’t feel stressed or that I work very hard but I’ve been promoted a few times, pay is good, benefits are phenomenal. I’ve recently moved and am solely wfh now. It’s a bit boring and I’d prefer to go to the office 1-2 days a week, though. I voted no.

thats why before my current company I swore off sales, 14 years ago I got the ultimatum from my old sales job if I didn’t meet quota in 60 days I was done…….so I spent those 60 days finding my current company and literally cut out the day before they were going to fire me

I did monthly reporting for our previous Controler. When she left I quit providing them as a test. Going on 6 months with 50% month-end workload.

I’m leaving my job next week. I’ve had conversations twice with my boss as to why I’m leaving. Now he wants to meet up in 30 minutes in person to have an exit interview and I’d rather not have another one of these convos. Should I go or is this getting ridiculous with conversations on why I’m leaving?

Enjoyment ebbs and flows because it's a function of how stimulating I find the work itself.
I like the people I work with enough, expectations placed on me are never unreasonable, and stress is low.
I don't make as much as I might with some more ambition but I do enjoy p good benefits.

We get requests for new reporting all the time. We’ll send it through programming, QA, beta, and deployment to all database. All told it’s about a month process. I like to go back and run a usage script to pull how much the latest “this is gonna be a game changer” report gets run. The results never fail to make me want to take my own life.

Yeah that’s for sure, had a kid for a year then he left and I didn’t do a good job with him, we were too busy to hand hold. I’ve done better with this kid, but don’t love being totally overtop of them, but that might just be what’s needed to be sure they do things right.

    Tough question.

Overall I really do like the work and the field (before Covid). In normal times it’s challenging in a good way and I go to fly all over the country meeting really accomplished and intelligent people. I also love being in trial. Covid has changed it all for me. I despise coming to the same office every day, doing everything via Zoom and having zero variety to my day. It’s really causing me distress. Plus I’ve grown to despise my current situation. I’m stuck in a huge rut for lots of complicated reasons.

Zero doubt I’ll be making a big change very soon as staying here just isn’t an option. My career burns a lot of people out and can be demanding of my time, however one of my few talents is that I’m remarkably good at compartmentalizing. I can go from serious work discussion to having a beer and not even thinking about work in less than 30 seconds.

I have been in sales my entire career and don't have a problem with it. Always 100% commission. You just have to work for the right company. Out of three 3 jobs I've held, two were family owned companies and one was corporate. the corporate job was the worst 6 months of my life, professionally. My current employer is family owned and has it's pros and cons. I can sell all day via phone/email with uncapped commission. I'm selling a product nobody else has, and the pay is really good. The main con is I'm stuck in this damn office with the commute. The year I was working from home was the best year of my life. I am hoping they let us get back to at least partially work from home.

Hate my job. I keep getting new positions then getting burnt out on them. It's pretty mindless work, account administrator in the Logistics field. I am bored over 75% of my day.
Technically, my job title is Safety Coordinator, but I have zero interest in it and no training in it; only accepted it because it was the only way to get a raise outside of accepting a management position. Management in Logistics is ass because the workers suck, I was a supervisor here for a couple years previously.

Been with this company 16 years. Cannot wait for the day I can leave. It's my own fault for being content and making decent money compared to everybody else in this warehouse.

Have been applying other places. Have an interview set up for next Thursday, wish me luck!

I love the employee surveys we do where basically everyone hates administration. Idk why we keep doing them. What happens is administration is like "we heard your voice and that's why we're having each department come up with an action plan to fix why everyone hates us." Just creates more work for the people below to "fix" everyone being mad the CEO makes 40x what they do

Logistics is terrible. The person I started in logistics with 15 years ago is still in it. He's a manager for HSN. The shit he has to deal with is unreal. The VP's leave monthly-ish, his Director leaves monthly-ish and he only gets more and more responsibility. The money is questionable as well.
