First trip to the dentist in about 15 years. Said my shit looks damn good for it being so long. Wants to do a root canal and crown on my recently broken tooth. 3k sound right? Also wants to replace all of my silver fillings that I've had since I was a kid. I'm not gonna let this happen, those have been in there forever and they aren't bothering me so why fuck with it now?
burnttatertot I hope you suffer immense tooth pain and pay over 3k in dental costs for your aggressions

Ignore me burnttatertot I pay $43/month for "dental insurance" plus probably paid over $1.5k in 2019-2020 for various dental expenses so I'm just angry because fuck all this shit I actually wish you the best and hope you find great dental health at the lowest price possible
3K is high. There’s zero need to replace a filling unless it’s broken or a cavity has developed under the filling.
Which tooth needs a root canal? Is he referring you to an endodontist or doing it himself? I’d go to an endodontist. Also, the silver fillings are generally pretty great at sealing out decay, but sometimes they do cause teeth to crack. I’d still typically be conservative with them and only replace them if they have decay or obvious cracks.
He wants to do it himself, I'm in no pain and the tooth is easy to get to being the fifth one over from center on the bottom row. No decay in my silver fillings, I saw the photos they take and they look like they're in great shape.
If it’s straightforward and he’s competent in endo, it’ll probably be ok. But it would be like going to a general surgeon for a knee operation instead of an orthopedic knee surgeon. There are plenty of dentists out there that do really shitty jobs with root canals unfortunately. When you’re spending that much money, I would at least consider an endodontist.
Got a Sonicare toothbrush last week, haven't had one in forever Don't know why I ever quit using one 10/10
Got this one about 6 weeks ago and my mouth feels more clean than I think it ever has. My dentist recommended the rotating head. https://www.target.com/p/oral-b-pro...tery-toothbrush-powered-by-braun/-/A-75661328
It's easy to overlook when you're having fun and not paying thousands of dollars in dental insurance like some suckers.
I don’t have dental insurance and pay my dentist $200 a year and that covers two cleanings and X-rays discounts on other shit I never/rarely need this isn’t luxury money you god damn weirdo
My dental insurance is like $100 a year, pays for two cleanings/exams, yearly x-rays, and covers a % on other stuff like fillings, root canals, crowns, etc. So essentially it more than pays for itself, so I take full advantage of it.
at this point on this night I don’t know if this is funny or honest or a troll @reddneck has ruined me
I bit the shit out of my lip/cheek and it’s constantly rubbing on my tooth. Is there anything OTC that lasts longer than the 10-15 minutes of benzocaine?
If you want to make it heal faster, put some salt directly on it. Going to sting like hell but helps. Plus it makes the other pain seem not so bad.
This is terrible advice. Take an analgesic like Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Avoid hot spicy and acidic foods. Might be helpful to shift to a softer food diet for a few days. Where you bit it is swollen so it is easier to bite with a normal chewing motion.
This whole channel is like Dr pimple popper, but for teeth. Lots of stuff that’s disgustingly interesting. Mostly removing enormous amounts of plaque. Spoiler is unpacking a whole ass salad out of a giant tooth cavity. I can’t look away. Spoiler
Because they’re lazy pieces of shit. And the dentist is their comeuppance moment where they learn the dentist is going to have to drill into their teeth to fix the mess.
Fucking dentists coming in here acting like their job is actually important. Bitch your little association made up the two visit a year thing to keep you in business. Now you gunna act like people not seeing you regularly is gonna make them have a heart attack? Fuck off
goddamn, you must be able to smell the plaque getting zapped off of those fucked up rotten choppers from a half mile away
