It's not sarcasm when it's posted after multiple pages of you hating on him for multiple topics.
They can grasp it. They just won’t
He's relevant in big tournaments. Better?
If simply saying he isn't back nor will he ever be back to where he was before is hating on him for multiple pages and topics then Im guilty.
Being triggered by "He's back" and not willing to admit that the options he has would make it harder to be faithful than any temptation you or I will ever deal with is.
Weird, I have seen cameras following him around his entire career, even when he wasn’t playing well so in terms of his relevance, he never lost it.
Why are they always plump? They’re always ready to burst out of their 2 sizes too small button down.
I love Tiger and root for him every time he plays.
This fucking board...
But is he back?
“Back” and “relevant” need to not be used in sports discussions without further clarity. They’re way too ambiguous without additional context. Always leads to shitty arguments.
Mostly indifferent. Dont think he is a very good person but I dont ever really root for or against him. Over the years when he was stinking up the joint I got sick of the constant Tiger cams taking away time from the golfers who were actually performing well. Obviously not his fault and that's an ESPN and other outlets issue. It's just annoying
Relevant in a competitive manner. Better?
Questions this thread seeks to answer:
Do you root for Tiger Woods?
Is Tiger Woods back?
Are you a Tiger Woods fan but dislike Trump and are therefore a Moral Hypocrite?
Are you mad?
It’s subjective so it leads to stupid arguments.
This means you dislike him. Sorry, dbl has ruled.
We will continue to disagree on this. He never lost relevance on the golf course, he was shoved down our throats even when he “sucked.” He was never just “competitive at big tournaments,” he was dominant and crushed people. He is not “back” but he is playing some really really good golf.
He's back to being relevant on the leaderboard in majors. I'm sorry that upsets you so much.
He is not back to crushing people on the leaderboards in majors (which is what he used to do and would indicate that would be somewhere he has been before). I am sorry you can’t figure that out.
Link to someone saying he is?
I'm over hear laughing my ass off at being triggered by reading too much into "He's back." This is hilarious. I remember when my dislike of Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow made me invent things to hate about them so I won't judge these guys.
He is what?
Grew up a big Mickelson fan and couldn’t stand Tiger. He’s grown on me a little over the years. I don’t root for him, but don’t hate him like I did years ago.
I root for him. He’s no Koepka, though.
He was never just looked at as “someone competitive on the leaderboard.” He was looked at as “dominant.” You are trying to shoehorn a position of esteem to him that is below any position that was afforded to him at the time of his earlier good years in an effort to fit your argument that he is back.
For Pete’s sake he wasn’t just relevant to golf and the leaderboard, he was golf and the leaderboard.
He is not back to that and never will be.
Your insistence that "back" has to mean "back to his absolute peek and nothing less" is just weird.
Your insistence that he was never the most dominant golfer on the planet or a dude struggling to make cuts is mind-bottling. He is at a place in his career that he has never been before. Do you realize how hard it is to go back to someplace that you have never been. Some might say it is impossible.
One of the main girls that caused the whole shitshow, Jaime, was a former employee of mine.
Link to me saying he never did those things?
Threads like this are amazing. You can go through life never thinking there's a different way of interpreting a certain thing. Then you are introduced to the flip side of your view, when again, you didn't think there even was a flip side to begin with. Even something as trivial as a golfer being back.
Not only are there differing opinions. But people are seemingly emotionally invested in each side. And furthermore, the opposite sides are even inferring unrelated views of the opposition, because of said opposition's interpretation.
What a fascinating thread.
I’m not gonna read this whole thread but he’ll never be back to what he was, however, he is much closer than most people thought he would ever be a few years ago. He’s clearly not done winning and most people would have disagreed with that a few years ago.
So you agree, he has been the most dominant player or a guy struggling to make cuts for the entirety of his career except this small window of time we are now in. So what is he back to again?
He's back to contending for majors. We've covered this.
Yes, because that is what Tiger is known for, being a contender in majors. Glad he is back. Tiger the great golf major contender is back.
Wasn’t that his nickname, the contender. Everyone knew he could contend with the best of them.
Was there, have the tervis to prove it
Glad we agree.
But we still don’t though.
classic completely arbitrary semantics debate
Quoting a random post of yours, also I hope to be invited to eat your food one day. Tiger won in September last year for the first time since 2013. He hasn’t been competitive since 2013. It’s not that fucking hard to understand what people mean by “he’s back”
The people complaining about the semantics of him being "back" are typically the same ones that consume the most inane ESPN/sports media content. Look yourselves in the mirror, dolts.
Go Tiger Go.
Can’t wait for the dblplay1212 smuggery when Tiger wins this week.
It really is though. It at the same time both cheapens his previous accomplishments and wildly exaggerated his current feat(s).
How about saying he won a tournament. Or maybe he is playing really good golf right now. Saying he is back is playing on nostalgia and memories that are not currently happening.
It is nothing more than a ratings push by media types and wishful thinking from fans of Tiger and golf.
If that happens, “he is back” can become a serious discussion. Because the Tiger of people’s memories is a guy that wins majors, has a pitching wedge wrapped around his face, or struggles to make cuts due to injuries. Not a guy that just has his name somewhere on the leaderboard and won a tournament last year.
Tiger has broken your brain man
Huge Tiger Groupie. Hope he wins every damn thing.
