I have all of my hair still but love shaving my head. I no longer care how unprofessional or unattractive it makes me. I use this in the shower at least once a week on my head and I love it.
OP, Don't know if you have hair or not but go to a salon and have a female advice you on what haircut style will fit you best. Good luck
I use this wireless Philips Norelco had it a couple years and works great. If you’re going do it yourself it won’t be perfect so you’ll have to do it at least every other week.
What's a good device to use to keep a 5 o'clock shadow? Would like to use the same device on my head and face and keep all the hair roughly the same length with the exception of my neck.
my barber died 5 years ago. I went to him for 25 years. I have not found a barber since. My hair is also to my shoulders right now. When I cut it I will probably do it myself.
I’ve had long hair for the past ten years or so and it’s fasicnating to see how much haircuts cost and how often they need to be done. I never really have to think about it. Exactly that’s about my experience I have my hair trimmed 2-4 inches every 6 to 8 months or so. I think my hair is just around the mid back, looking very Jesusy right now.
I keep it buzzed more often than not because I like the low maintenance, and I can do it myself so I save the money.
I just got the Elite Pro version of that. The Phillips clippers I got just aren't cutting very well anymore.
This is what I've been using for the last few years. Liked it a good bit but not cutting well anymore. Buzzed it on Sunday and it left a lot of hairs that did not get cut. Had to wash my hair, let it dry, then run it through again to get the job done well.
I use Wahl clippers and use compressed air to blow the hair out of it after each cut. 1 guard once a month
I use clippers with 2-3 guard. I have curly/wiry hair so not much else you can do. I can grow a jew looking fro, but its not professional and my wife likes it shorter. My wife trims the back and edges to makes sure i dont fuck it up. About 2-3x a year i get a real haircut if there is a wedding or meeting or something important.
Haven’t paid for a haircut since I was 17 (currently 31.) I buy a new trimmer every few years but that’s a lot cheaper/easier than getting haircuts every 6 weeks or less. I go no guard and usually do it every Sunday.
Last few times I buzzed I went with a #5 and just cut it every 2 weeks instead of once a month. I prefer my buzz a little longer since my blonde hair is fairly light colored when it's short.
you just need to get new blades. I usually go through multiple sets of blade replacements before my razor dies. You can order right off the website or call them.
Never owned a Phillips. Just google philips trimmer blades. My guess is they want everyone to buy the fucking one blade $12 replacement every month. Not a bad business model.
From what I read, this is about as good as it gets unless you go up to the like $100+ models professional barbers use.
stand in front of bathroom mirror. turn around. take handheld mirror. look at back of neck via handheld mirror. trim accordingly.
I shave my head in the shower, been doing so for nearly 20 years. If I were to let it grow I doubt much would come in at this point.
What I miss most about having hair (and damnit, it was beautiful, curly locks too) was the hot towel, the feeling of almost getting a head massage, the bosom touching the back of my head. Now, if I want to get that treatment I have to pay and arm and a leg for a straight edge shave, which is nice, but usually involves a man (no bosom) and it costs a boatload.
I go through cycles of letting mine grow out and then buzzing it back with the Wahl. I’ll also periodically shave the back in the interim to get all the fuzzy neck hairs off me. Just did it today after a solid year of growth.
I have a difficult time keeping my lines sharp so I usually just book a reservation at a salon and show them this photo of Brad Calipari
Finally ponied up and bought barber grade Oster clippers. Not sure why waited so long. Definitely worth the money.
