I'd be interested to see a "don't vote" percentage as well - I'm sure I probably know higher amounts than the average since the states I spend time in are foregone conclusions in every presidential election. Were you not alive for Ronald Reagan? The Dems even held their convention there in 2000 (with an epic companion protest by RATM). California has had as many Republican governors as Democrats since Reagan too. There's just been an absolute brain drain in the Republican party, and it was felt especially hard in places with a lot of college-educated whites like Orange County.

R vs D governors being equal since Reagan is technically true, of course, but it requires not counting the second stint of Brown, and Arnold was a RINO at the time, let alone current day. And Wilson only served one term.

Lol Legal Brains. I interviewed with them out of law school and was offered a job. They were weird. The managing partner, Peter at the time, was suspended from practicing law when I interviewed and had some scripted explanation for it so his daughter was the acting managing partner. They also asked me if I smoked cigarettes. I don't so said as such and they said "Good. We don't hire lawyers that smoke because if you can't take care of your own body how can you take care of your clients." They wanted me to work in Bonita Springs but drive to Tampa from there and over to Ft. Lauderdale each week but they were not going to pay mileage for it. They also offered me a salary of $40,000. I politely declined. They also said they practice intellectual property and I was interested in it at the time and asked about it. They said one attorney does some of it sometimes but I would have to bring in my own clients if I wanted to do it. Very strong practice.
