I was never a small.dog guy but these came with the girl. The older lazier one is awesome and we got together right after she got the smaller hyper one. They couldn't be more different but they're both great. I still can't believe how athletic the little dude is. He can run a squirrel down in open ground from like 30-40 feet away. When he catches one it's going to kick his ass but well cross that bridge when we get to it
He went public Friday, was scheduled to be done tomorrow. I would rather have him adjust to the new digs for a week or 2 and then get it done. I don't want to throw too much at him at once.
My aunt and uncle have always had shih tzus. Their shih tzu now chases big dogs off their property. It’s a cool dog. First time it met one of my labs it started chasing my poor dog away. He had no idea what the fuck was happening but he ran
My new pup is a biter, and we didn't socialize our other dog well so she doesnt know how to put him in his place. She accidentally hurt him playing, and I swear she feels bad and just lets lets him bite her now. The she runs and non stop barks. Wish she would just growl and pop him once or twice
I think you might be able to change the name with the AKC with proof of ownership if that is important to you.
Been a busy week at The Pixel Fund. Monday we lost one of our pups, she was part of a big litter who all got adopted, but she was never completely healthy as a pup and things kept getting progressively worse. Last weekend she started having tremors and by Monday morning she was gone. She was such a sweet girl. RIP Alli (continued in next post).
That same day, we got a litter of five 12 week old Shepard mix puppies who were found abandoned in the woods. They are now the Harry Potter litter, had two of them at an event this weekend, they are awesome. Here's one, rest are in spoiler Spoiler
Can we please just take a few days and not talk about doggos dying. Call me selfish, or whatever, but damn.
And here's the latest ones, just yesterday we got word of a litter of 5-week old pups that were abandoned in the woods (see the theme here?). 4 of them came to us last night, the 5th was too sick to travel, we think he might end up being blind if he survives due to eye infections. Our foster coordinator, who was caring for Alli the last few months before she died, took these pups to honor her memory. Here's what she had to say about the litter - I have never seen so many fleas, flea dirt, ticks or bleeding bite marks on puppies until today. These pups are skin and bone. Their hip bones are literally poking out. A few have some wounds and scabs. I truly do not believe they would have made it much longer in the woods! I am praying for their brother who is in the hospital and could not make it today. They are about 1-2 pounds each, super tiny as you can see from the picture with the 8-ounce bottle of dish soap. They were probably pulled from their mom waaay too soon, so they are getting formula along with some dry food. Lab is likely based on their faces but who knows. This is all in addition to at least three owner surrender dogs and about 5 owner surrender cats this week. And we are coming into cat season, so it will be raining kittens any day now. This is why i love rescue though :-)
sorry man, wasn't trying to bum anyone out, sorta set up the last of my posts though. Alli's spirit will live on in these little pups.
Said goodbye to my best friend in the world five months ago tonight. I honestly had no idea losing a dog could hurt so bad for so long. Thankful for every second I got with this dude, but damn I miss the shit out of him. Everybody hug your dogs tonight.
No not all. Just saying that this thread makes me feel all the feels. My bad if I made you feel you shouldn’t remember him.
Man guys I’m so sorry for all the losses lately. I can’t imagine how hard it I’ll be when one of mine crosses the rainbow bridge. Hopefully this cheers you up a little knowing you guys are still the best to you pups
I wish I had recorded this; Connor just strolled upstairs to the living room and like 10 seconds later came running fast as hell back to the den, jumped over the couch. When he landed he did like a somersault and had his ball in his mouth then just started going nuts with the ball. I was dying laughing.
That would be the term for your pic, mine is “I don’t fits, I still fits as I am showing you who rules this house”
This little girl is our next foster. She's been a Pixel pup for about two months and has had three or four apps fall through for various reason. Hoping she can get a good app at this weekend's events. She's a total sweetheart.
My little man, is having trouble potty training it seems, he was doing great for a couple days and now is peeing in the house. I know I've only had him for 1.5 weeks but my other dog was trained by now. I know they will be different, I just hate he has regressed. We also had a yard for the other older pup and am in a 3rd story apt. Now. Just kinda not sure what to do but just keep at it
