best thing you can do is get them on the most regular schedule you can, and reward the hell out of him when he goes outside.
Like dump said, not that bad. The meds are relatively cheap and my dogs regained control of poops immediately upon taking the first dose. Just waah absolutely everything immediately upon giving last medicine, including the dog.
just disinfect and definitely steam clean the water and food bowls. Giardia is transferred through dirty water. like a puddle or water that has been sitting out a little too long. Humans get it a lot too. mainly in Mexico.
I'm like 90 percent sure it was from the irrigation since they use recycled water, dude loves water and was licking the sprinkler at my apt complex. Where there are dogs everywhere
Welp it finally happened, my wife told me Ruby killed one of our chickens. I am out of town and my wife left her outside for the day and came back a few hours later and found a headless chicken on our yard, no word on if the head was found or not. She was doing so well with not being tempted by them too. Mind you, these chickens have a pen and a run but the dead one always insisted on escaping when the dog was in the backyard. Darwinism I guess.
We had two boston terriers who would escape the back porch, run a mile or 2 and bring back dead chickens from the neighbors. Brother and sister team we're ruthless when they wanted to be
Yep, still no head found. I think she ate it. I really hoping it doesnt fuck her up too much if thats the case.
A head is no issue for them. Biggest concern would be the neck but not for passing it. Choking would be a bigger concern and obviously that didn't happen so she will be fine.
Any recs for a dog that drinks so much water get throws up? Gonna get a water bottle thing to hopefully slow him down
Every time? Ice cubes will eliminate that If after exercise, ice cubes or wait a bit before water Give rationed portions at a time If it's because the water is too cold, room temperature If after food, separate the two If every time, check your pup for esophageal problems
Just first time he eats in the morning, he goes ham on the water, then food. Gonna try not giving food for a bit after the water. Then will try ice cubes if that doesnt work. It was just the past two days. then 20 minutes later i give him more food and water and he is fine. He just loves water.
Dropped off my dog with my dad today while I was at work. Sam is going to be 9 years old in 2 months. When I picked him up, my Dad had run him for at least 3-4 hours while he was doing stuff in the yard and now he’s limping. I cannot describe how furious I am. Edit: Most I keep him outside while I’m working is an hour or so and keep fetch at a minimum since he’s a senior dog now.
Sounds like he is just sore. if it lasts more than 24 or so hrs or he doesnt put weight on it then I would be concerned
Thanks, my guy. He was whining pretty bad and his back legs fell out from underneath him, but he seems like he’s able to walk and put weight on it now. Just irritated as fuck since my dad has had shepherds and has known about Sam getting sore these past few years from all the running he used to do.
Opie is 7 and limps sometimes, especially after a hard play session or when he lays funny on his leg. Vet wasn’t concerned and said his muscles and mobility were fine. All that to say, he probably just played too much and will be ok.
My boy turned 5 months and now he’s attempting to hump every male dog that will let him. Can’t say I didn’t see this coming, I’ve suspected it ever since I noticed he’s left footed
Ody turned 10 on Thursday He had some steak and cheese for his bday dinner. Unfortunately he has an abscess tooth. It swelled a couple weeks back but only an little and resolved itself in a day or two. Scheduled a dental cleaning for him then. But this morning we woke up and it looks like he got stung by a bee in the face :( that I can't help him. Calling the vet later to hopefully get some antibiotics but still won't be able to get them for another 2 days probably.
I got Maisy for my wife and didn't think I would like her. Now she sleeps cuddled up next to me every night and I wouldn't have it any other way.
So my dog yesterday morning was acting strange, I wasn't sure if she was sick or something (tail between legs, looked very sad, etc.). I got home from work yesterday, she was still on the couch and hadn't eaten her food. I noticed she wasn't going to get down from the couch on her own (she usually is greeting me at the door), or get back up on the couch on her own once I got settled in. I did look her over to see if I saw any bites or swelling or anything, moved her legs and joints around a little bit, but got no signs of pain, although it does seem like she is in some pain. She finally ate her food last night and is drinking water. Should I keep observing for another day or so, or just be safe and get an appointment at the vet?
When in doubt go to the vet. I’m sure she’s fine, but you don’t want to have waited and it be something serious.
Thanks, I’ll call once they open. Here is my 2.5yo “making sure Daisey ok (her name is Maisey)” melts my heart.
