You should be afraid of her dying, you need to put an end to that quick.
She just chews on them. Doesn’t swallow them.
Your dog might be safer in the hands of The Real Roy Williams parents. She swallows an average size rock by accident she's going to need an expensive surgery and that's if she doesn't die. Start correcting the behavior now.
You’re my friend but this kind of talk is a little harsh. My sisters’s dog is kinda old and growled at my dog. So Molly knocked her around a bit. Nothing serious but my mom freaked out and opened my back door yelling for me. I immediately took care of the situation. She listened to me and just went inside. I think that dog is old and grumpy and picking fights.
You're 100% right The Real Roy Williams, the dog would not be safer in the hands of your parents. I hope you can accept my apology.
Can we not. Not in this thread, damnit.
I don’t need your apology tot we’re good. It wasn’t my decision and it’s tearing them up. He was seriously dangerous though. He jumped a twelve foot ledge and tried to attack my friend. That was the most recent attack.
My aunt and uncle had a water spaniel w/extreme hunting instincts that they kept as a companion dog and never used for sport. He would constantly carry/hold rocks and it was adorable. Never messed him up too bad but when he got really old he started having salivary issues so they were forced to put a stop to it.
At one point they had him x-rayed for a separate issue and he had ~10 lbs of loose gravel in his tummy. Dude loved his rocks.
Where’d you get that bed?
Costco. It has changed our lives because he loves it so much that he will just go crash there for no reason.
any idea what brand it is? we need an XL one, but costco website only has 2 products.
It's Kirkland brand and looks like it's gone now, but it was this one. (I did not pay this much, it was $45 at costco.)
Have a friend with a 100lb Dogo that they have a pretty big bed for. I'll see where they got it.
thanks. our guy is only 50 lbs 7 months right now, not sure how much bigger he'll get, a husky.
Damn, looks like they have the costco one, too. This one's really similar though.
i saw that one and texted the fiance about it. wish i had an actual store that carried them. petsmart doesnt have large ones. boy's getting snipped thursday and would love to have a nice bed for him to lay on. Ts&Ps for our boy, lol.
New sisters seem to be getting along; strange mix of one of the most naturally intelligent dogs I’ve ever owned and an absolute potato head. I’m seriously considering teaching the one on the bottom to herd the one on the top like a sheep.
From 2 months old when I got him (8 pounds) to 7 months old now (58 pounds). Growing boy!
little Beaux with his dad
These dudes played at my house yesterday and played this song. It made think of this thread.
Have a similar chair to this in my office at home.
My female lays and has her neck or part of her body on the legs at all times. I have no idea how that's even comfortable but I am always in fear that I am going to steamroll her ear in the middle of a conference call.
Boy was not too happy to lose his manhood Thursday.
Maddux going hard in the park
My dogs have adopted my girlfriend as dog mom. I swear they might love her more than me. She feeds them when I go to work. They’re gonna be sad when she leaves to deal with her stuff which is happening soon. Sucks. Poor puppies. Poor me.
Raw food can actually be good for dogs.
I’ve heard of that and looked into it a bit. My sister does it with her dog. I just don’t have the freezer space. I know you’re fucking with me though butthole.
wondering y'alls reaction to this, to see if mine is in line with the general public
Also, here's our next foster, 12 week old pup, thinking she got hit by a car because she has a shattered pelvis and broken leg, but apparently she is a sweetheart.
I'm excited to meet her, picking her up tomorrow morning.
Those people are trash people.
Me and the fiancee are still pissed about this dude on our local Facebook market page who was looking to sell a puppy he got his gf for Xmas because she's allergic to dogs.
Agreed, and as we both know Osceola is the trashiest part of a trash-filled state. But then the logical side of me says "is it any different than if they sold the puppy and used the money to hire a painter?"
And it is different, because that's not responsible re-homing of a dog, but that was my second reaction. My first of course being to pretend I was a painter and get the dog because I love Frenchies and save it from those horrible people.
Also, congrats on getting engaged!
My reaction is fuck those shitty people.
I add to the consensus.
What do we think about CBD oil for separation anxiety?
Has there been any studies?
A few it seems. My vet, whom I trust**, recommended it as an option. Starting to research it now.
We havent had a lot of issues though. He's been an incredibly healthy dog. Only see the vet once a year for shots, ect.
Truman just turned 7 (Time flies) always had separation issues. He was incredibly hesitant to prescribe an Rx. He did but didnt see that great of results. So now he's said to try cbd.
after some quick googling - there doenst seem to be any official research studies, but lots of good experiences. Mostly the bad ones are "I spent a lot of money and it did nothing"
I’ve heard good things. I know a couple clients that give it to their dogs and haven’t heard a bad thing, but I’ll ask my vet tomorrow.
Two more meds you can discuss with your vet are Reconcile and Ventrol. Reconcile is basically dog prozac but much cheaper than actually going to the human pharmacy to get it. And Ventrol is a plant based supplement that is supposed to help with stress disorders like thunderstorms or fireworks or even car rides, so maybe it could help with separation anxiety.
Thanks. Its been a few years since I tried the prescription. I dont remember the name, but neither of those ring a bell. I moved recently I think part of his issues is adapting to a new place. He has never liked being left alone, but now he starts shaking in fear when he knows it's going to happen. I feel awful for him.
We dosed one of our cats with a feline-specific CBD when we moved because we were afraid he’d freak out on the long plane ride. Almost worked too well—they had to get approved by dept of ag and he looked like a drugged up zombie.
Evidently it has a really sour taste for them so if you don’t get it in the back of their throat they’ll foam a bit. Definitely calms them down though.
Our new dog is adjusting better and better to us and her sister. They play-fight every waking hour so it’s nice to see moments like these:
Hounds? Love em
Look more Brittany to me.
One on the right is a mutt from the jungle. We’ve got a lot of Brittany guesses from people. Vet thinks she looks like Setter and the rescue group that found her thought part Collie. One on the left is a Pointer that was left in the overnight kennels at the humane society.
Picked some oil up today. Gave him a little bit but cant really tell a difference. He's pretty chill when Im home. It's the separation that gives him the issues. We'll see how it goes tomorrow when Im out for the Super Bowl.
