We were dog sitting a friend's older chihuahua-spaniel mix this week. He's close to 10 and Wally is not even 2 constantly wanted to play. The little guy wanted none of that the 5 days and Wally just wouldn't give up trying.
(If I see them when I’m out in the yard I launch them back over the fence but sometimes he just brings these inside)
Her fiancé has two other bulldogs. A blue male and a tri color female. So in all we have six and I can literally have my own running of the bulldogs. Except Groot and Nidus don’t like one another at all.
Cinder managed to escape her crate while we were out yesterday, went into our room where she knows she's not allowed, and destroyed a hand made gift my wife got for our wedding, one of our sleep masks, and my headphones, as well as taking All the cloths out of the laundry hamper and distributing them around the house. This morning she'd shit in her crate and then desperately wanted to play when I let her out and paw me with shit covered paws. She's about a "vomit on the carpet" away from being yote into orbit
It's the usual wire crate for large dogs; it's big for her since she's only ~35lbs. She managed tho slide the tray forward and got under the latch for the door and lifted the latch
When Truman was a puppy he was able to do the same thing. I ended up drilling holes in the corners of the tray and zip tying it to the crate.
Ideally you'd have the crate partitioned so she can only turn around - less likely to shit in it if they'd have to lay in it
My lab mix they think can recover from her torn ACL on her own, but she can't go for walks or anything for two weeks, followed by four weeks of maximum five minute walks. Devising a scheme to get my husky outside for a walk, who is an asshole if he doesn't get one, without my lab mix seeing us leaving has turned into a daily challenge.
OK, TMB Dog people, don't fail me here. 10 year old shepherd mix spayed female is piddling all over, has been for a couple months. Finally took her in to the vet this afternoon, he says it's probably because she's an old spayed female and her muscles have gotten sloppy, but before he puts her on meds for the rest of her life he wants to rule out an infection. So he hands me a little pee cup and tells me to bring back a sample. I'm laughing because I can just see myself running after her in the yard tomorrow morning trying to get a few drops of pure urine, with her skittishly running away whenever I get close because WHAT THE HELL IS DAD DOING BACK THERE RUN AWAY RUN AWAY. Vet says some people use a paper cup, some a ladle; if I can't get a good sample myself he can always suck some out of her bladder with an oversized syringe, but nobody really wants that option. So the query is: has anybody successfully got a pee sample from a female dog? And if so, how? Serious answers only, please
My uncle had this exact thing happen to his dog. He tried a Frisbee. It never worked so he said fuck it and she got out on the loose vag pills
ladle probably works the best. if you are handy you can attach it to like a yardstick or something that way you dont have to bend down to get it. thats what my old clinic did.
What kind of Tijuana donkey show vet are you taking your best friend to? I've never had a vet not collect the urine.
I’ve done it to save a trip to the vet. We called and gave the symptoms and she told us we could bring her in or a urine sample.
Sure, I've had a vet tell me not to take my dog out to go pee before we get there so they can collect a sample. His vet sending him away and telling him to come back with pee is just weird to me. Give a dog an unfamiliar surrounding and they'll want to pee, two trips not necessary. On one of my vet trips they had this fake grass pee area. Kinda gross but it got the job done.
some dogs can’t or won’t go pee at the vet or they don’t want to put any extra stress on the dog in case it is already on high alert as AptosDuck seems to have stated by saying that his dog is already cautious when going behind her to get the sample I guess the latter is it
Had no idea about the ladle thing until last time I went to the vet. The tech girl whipped that ladle right in front of the stream so flawlessly to catch 95% of my dogs small amount of piss. It was weirdly impressive.
I usually just let the dogs out in the back yard so they can do their thing, so me being out there with a ladle this morning was Most Extraordinary to the point that they just stared at me and went back inside
Sisu has long haunch hair and a really bushy tail, so I have no idea how I'll be able to get this accomplished I think the vet is just fucking with me

My boy got fat. Up to 80 pounds but he carries it well. Need to cut down on his treats but overall healthy.
Dog crate crew, been a month since I checked the thread. That said, crate training 101 is feed the dog in the crate. Any dog is hunger driven. Associate crate with food and you are golden. Start slow, praise with food. Extend time as you go. Eventually you’ll get to the point where the dog naps there because it comfortable.
Progress. She let me get close with the ladle without running away, but between the dark and her long hair I missed all but a few drops, and the vet says he needs a couple teaspoons. Try again tomorrow

not too sure. the mom is about 60lbs and looks like a german shepherd and we aren't sure about the dad. some of his siblings look like hound dogs though so who really knows. i agree though he definitely looks like he has some rottie in him.
Boy. 10 weeks old. The foster parents named him Sullivan after the island here. Weren't big fans of the name at first but it's grown on us so we're calling him Sully. Girlfriend found him on a local rescue page on Facebook.
I think the coloration is more German Shepherd than Rottweiler. They have brown muzzles, while most GSD's have black.
Other than the muzzle my first thought was Rottie when looking at him. The color distribution and the two dots above the eyes scream rottie to me.
Nevertheless AubCabs rottie or GS its a great looking pup and looks like he has superior Rottie genes in him.
