I don't remember how long ago but we have a thread somewhere on here about disliking dogs. Mind boggling shit.
Surfing trip to the Southwest Washington coast this weekend. Her first time on a big beach. So much fun. Gatdamn I love this dog Spoiler
I knew I was still sharp as a tack even at 50. You forgetful fucks however... https://www.the-mainboard.com/index.php?threads/yo-dogs-suck.183026/
Picky eating pup won't eat dry food anymore. Won't really even eat it if it's mixed in. What's everyone do for things besides kibble? We have Purina pro canned food but that stuff smells terrible
Tried pumpkin but he ended up in the pants shitting thread unfortunately. Maybe cheese would help tho
Could try to wet the kibble a little bit and let it mush up, and also top it with some low sodium chicken broth.
Sully did this when he was a puppy and our vet said he was just tired of the food. He’s a spoiled little bitch so he gets a microwaved scrambled egg on top of his food in the mornings and for supper we buy a bag of frozen veggies and top off his dry food with them.
We've tried 3 different dry foods, pumpkin, warm water to soften, and a canned/wet mix. He used to devour the dry stuff (he's a rescue so maybe he was food insecure?). Now he eats half of what we give him at best. Hasn't lost weight or energy and he still will go for treats. We did an ultrasound or xray a couple of weeks ago and there were no physical issues.
We do morning and breakfast. Do some dogs only eat once a day? We only do it now because we did with our last pup
I’ve never had a dog that’s been fed only once a day but I’m sure they exist. I imagine it depends on breed/mix and size.
My parents feed their dog 4 Oz of food once per day. She's a 60 lb pit mix who maintains a healthy weight being fed that little, somehow, and even their vet has said it seems to be the right amount for her.
I'm sure a lot of dogs would be just fine with it. I just love food and want my pets to enjoy it as much as me.
Lol, yeah. I don't really care what the goof wants or how often he wants it. We have a vet follow up tomorrow and will try to come up with a plan
Hello. I am afraid one of bubs has been infected by a botfly. What can we do until we can get to the vet??
I'm on a roadtrip thru Eastern Oregon that's really just a Fiddle Fotoshoot. I spend most of my time romping around outside, hitting Teddy Penjamin, listening to Dan Carlin, and playing with her. Spoiler
The husky is such a good dude. He loves her too much to ever use his strenght, he is always careful View attachment upload_2025-5-30_22-27-43.jpeg He is 80 pounds, twice her size
KT just lost his pup. Hug and love your good boys and girls while they are here. They leave far too soon
Our foster pup just passed away. Yesterday morning I woke up and she couldn't really stand, we took her to the vet and she had a 104.7 temp. Doc thinks she might have had a stroke or something related to her IVDD spiked the fever, but now I'm thinking she might have been right about the stroke. We brought her home and tried to make her comfortable, we had a little bit of hope after she was able to walk a few steps in the yard with me supporting her but after about 7 o'clock she didn't really try to move much. She was breathing fine when I fell asleep but she was gone when I woke up three hours later. Worst part is going to be telling my wife when I have to wake her up. RIP Ellie May, we love you always.
Thanks man. We know what to expect when we foster seniors and medical cases, but this is the first one we've actually lost when we were still fostering them. We've had a few that have passed not long after their adoptions, and several we thought we were going to lose, but this is a first for us.
I’m so, so sorry. Y’all do so much for these dogs to make their lives better. Thank you for giving her another chance at a great life and letting her know love until the end. Y’all will be in my thoughts.
it'll never be easy One Knight, but you gave that dog a wonderful final few days. yall are doing some amazing things
