yeah it looked terrible. at one point, one of the teams took a special neutral camp and their reward was that it was able to be activated towards a tower and it did half damage towards the mid tier 2 lol. shit was unbelievable.
not to mention the game client is fucking terrible. it takes forever to load, isn't intuitive, and the updates are pretty slow as well
Yeah, their Rosh is basically one of a couple possible huge neutrals that give specific team bonuses. No aegis. Basically when a team is a ahead net worth and take Baron the game is basically over. Baron gives bonus gold based on gold advantages, so then the team just fucking stomps ahead net worth, all TP Home and buy OP shit, then push a lane and end game with their new massive net worth advantage. Imagine a Dota team is up 5K at 25 minutes, takes Rosh, grabs all bounties and pushes lanes, and networth is now 15K only 2 minutes later. That’s how a lot of Baron “Power Plays” work and it basically just ends the game. Super boring. First Baron win rate in pro league is like 85%+
I feel like League has a lot more fun skillshot based abilities. Hook and Arrow and pangolier abilities feel so fun, I think league has many more of those types, right?
The worst is timber and i were already picked 3/4 in offlane, and he premarked WK carry. THEN after invoker is picked he instant locked clock and marks enemy jungle after rubick had picked. So we had ursa go safelane and timber mid. I reported him
Assuming Timber was mid and Ursa safe? Games where neither your carry or mid pick a hero that hits buildings are usually miserable. I've started trying to pay attention to that in the draft in the few games where I play one of those 2 positions, cause it's easy to forget about that (also having someone that can shove waves) when you're so focused on counter picking.
Handcuffed and I are out there demolishing Peruvians and 0 other TMB’ers are around? For shame. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4159768686 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4159860080 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4159831549 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4159732958 4-0 last night Not sure it’s possible to lose as a level 25 Centaur with a heart. Don’t know how you die as long as you aren’t caught alone by the entire team. Also we had a game where our team was Riki, pudge and Techies that went nearly 70 minutes vs Sniper/pangolin/Sven/kunkka. Not sure how you don’t just abandon at that point, you can’t push into the techies and we couldn’t go hg vs that lineup so we just killed them once they left the base
Which party queue is at fault for losing? https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4164314740 Certainly not the 3 stack that went 8-34! No! Never!
I've played two really good games recently: Kunkka mid; itemized well (Halberd against an Ursa and LC). We lost every lane but mid and then people started coming mid and it was a clusterfuck which messed up my own game. They had a good VS support who was warding, bought spirit vessel, would Q to get vision for swaps or swap out of ganks, etc. and they had map control for every single rosh. They pushed lanes and took barracks but I eventually got enough farm and Lich was able to get level 25 at the very end + our 2K/20D Spectre got a 35 minute first item diffusal and we finally were able to wipe them 2-3 times on their mid high ground pushes and they didn't have buybacks. We came back from 23K. https://www.opendota.com/matches/4169660926 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4169660926 Void offlane; kill score of 72-77. They had Zeus, Sniper, Sven, and CK late game. We had Witch Doctor mid and Ench and Spirit Breaker. I had 823 gpm and I think I bought a battlefury at 50 min just for the mana sustain. From a map movement perspective, this was one of my best games in terms of getting farm. I probably should've gotten the bfury earlier because I was so starved of mana for much of the game (and everyone at higher levels would've gotten bkb) but I was very clearly the best player in this game and that feels good and Void's not the easiest hero for me to win games on when that's the case. https://www.opendota.com/matches/4170752442 https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4170752442
On a lot of mana starved heroes like Void if I'm not getting a BF in my build I'll carry 2-4 clarities with me at all times in backpack and pop them after fights or while clearing jungle camps/lanes. 200 gold for unlimited mana seems worth. Also you are consistently better than every other player in your bracket when we party queue, so I'm surprised your don't ranked up faster. probably would help if you limited your hero pool and played a carry/carryable mid/offlaner every game.
Yeah, it kinda sucks, but sticking to about 5 meta heroes you're good at is key to ranking up. If I was going to try to grind MMR I'd probably just spam Centaur/Abba/Riki/Bristle/Brew
Sing was playing a game a while back where he was grimstroke and they had a lion and Lina on their team. zap zap
Me laning with a visage last night after queueing offlane ranked roles: "Dude, can you stop last hitting? You queued support." > I need 538 gold for Power Treads
is there a bigger power spike than when centaur gets a heart? https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4180840706 game from tonight. i was centaur and was kind of getting shit on early game. eventually farmed a heart once we settled our lanes (which took a while... vs. a drow + our only catch hero in shaman had abandoned), it was GG. i was basically the only one who could push lanes and not die and we had zero catch (they had three shadow blades + morph+linkins + tinker) and we still won because i had like 6k+ health and blademail.
It’s insane. Plus 25 return aura talent. But, there are so few ways to lose once you have heart. You kill towers so fast by yourself. Also Centaur tip: vs. Drow, vanguard -> crimson guard mitigates all that bonus damage. Also causes PL illusions to deal single digit damage.
Centaur is almost an autopick for me whenever I see a sniper/drow/WR at this point, especially since I'm always playing offlane anyway. No matter how stupid your team builds you will always have a way for everybody to jump on the back line and kill the ranged glass cannon. Also one of the best halberd carriers in the game because he's a strength hero and has a passive based on it, so he really benefits from that +20.
man phoenix is fun i think i have like a 20% win rate w/ him https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4184961880
every game i play grimstroke i end up dumpstering our lane and the other 2 lanes feed hard every fucking time
