I'm sure this one will go well
Sorry there are a lot of good jags fan gifs now
Such a Jags move.
God hates Jags.
That is a puzzling move
This is the guy with the WTF podcast? Didn't know he could coach football, but on second thought that may not be a prerequisite.
So really it makes perfect sense for the Jags
Good hire not.
So after he gets fired in 2-3 years he'll take an assistant job for a year or two then wind up as a head coach at another NFL team.
And I'm guessing he's going to keep Nathaniel Hackett as his OC.
Shahid Khan needs a fill-in at coach while he preps for the team relocating to London.
If you thought this was a possibility why not fire Bradley earlier in the season and give marrone a look? Gus was done 4 games in but for some reason we kept letting him hang on.
Maron Marrone same thing
This is an absolutely awful hire.
gubbs is going to kill himself
This hire is not good. This hire is good
The Jags prevented the Jets from hiring Marrone next offseason.
Fuck this team.
what in the world?
Caldwell should have been fired along with Bradley.
This guy was the coach at Cuse for like a season and all of a sudden left for the league
He was a pretty good with the bills
Why does everyone think it's such a bad move
He was 15-17 with the Bills and before that he had a 25-25 record with Syracuse. Yeah he is just awesome.
he posted a 6-10 record in his first year with the bills, yeah. tied for the best record theyd had in the last 5 years. Then he won 9 games for the first time since 2004 and the 1st time in like 15 years. guy was doing pretty solid
I think he could be a decent coach, but the FO is beyond inept. Marrone has been on the staff for two years and they either should have fired Bradley last year and hired him then or fired Bradley earlier in the season to get a better sample size.
He also ended the season blowing a 13 point lead to the mediocre colts, which doesn't inspire much confidence and failed to make the offensive line that much better. The team needed an entire gutting of the prior staff that managed to have a top five pick for four straight years. This is a garbage organization.
I don't see why he's getting so much scrutiny. Being around .500 in Buffalo and Syracuse is elite.
I dont disagree with any of that stuff. I just don't think it's as terrible as some people seem to think
I think Coughlin will be good for that organization
They should have hired Coughlin as the coach and stayed away from Marrone.
He absolutely could be a good coach, and was the last coach to have a winning record in Buffalo for some time, but the optics are bad as a fan of the team.
Basically, ownership has accumulated zero good will from the fans and every move they make will be looked at through jaundiced eyes.
Didnt he opt out from coaching Buffalo Becuse of some weird contract clause?
He opted out in Buffalo because he thought he had the Jets job locked up.
In the event of a change of ownership he had a 3 day window to opt out and get paid his salary
All I really know about Marrone is that he went 6-10 and then 9-7 before leaving Buffalo and he was pissed when they traded up to draft Sammy Watkins.
Seems like an upgrade over Bradley, if nothing else.
well I expect it to be finalized but Rappaport said, it is not final yet .
I got no problems with him just another gus Bradley .
at least the gators made the right move with randy Shannon .
the jags needed a great coach not just a good coach .
just like my thoughts is if ya don't get a chance at cam robinson , you take leonard fournett .
Proof that the NFL is full of clueless ownership. How many times do teams need to hire proven garbage coaches before they learn? It's really no surprise that only like 10 franchises have been consistently relevant for the better part of this century. The NFL just hates change. Better off giving a young coach a shot.
You have no problems with him but he's just another Gus Bradley?
Gubbs, I'm worried about you.
