this neat little bluetooth speaker/watertight box for boating retails for $400. We're selling it for $300
Just had an interesting conversation with a ATL Homicide. Guy pawned two necklaces a week and a half ago and is being investigated for a murder(cop believes its justified).
Never seen these before but it seems like a great business to be in. I'm sure the cost of these parts and labor is $150 at most.
This is finally almost finished. Unfortunately The PAF pickups are not working so those are getting replaced and costing me 10k in value
Gibson Restoration wont do it. I do plan on having them rewound I'm just not exactly sure who to use or how much additional value rewound PAF's bring instead of the 62' reissues
Check out Rewind Electric or Throbak, both have very good reputations. Can't help you on value it adds and the service will not be cheap.
$220 to install a bone nut feels criminal, but at least you will be able to tell the buyer all parts have been professionally replaced by the manufacturer. That is one sweet axe.
This is 100% a players guitar. There’s a jeweler in town that’s a collector that I called over to look at it and he just started going over everything that’s wrong with it lol. he said I should have sent it to Tom Murphy who does Joe Bonamassa’s guitars. He was like it cost an extra 5k but he’s so much better than the guys at Gibson. That may be true but that would eat all of my profit and I would actually lose money
I may be wrong but I believe that Murphy now works at Gibson and is head of their super high end relic line Murphy Labs. He may still take on other work but I’m not aware of that. If you’re Joe Bonamassa I guess it might be different. It looks amazing man that’s a nice axe.
Lol For the first time ever, I find myself questioning if Nole0515 should have called in a friend to look at it before offering, like that dumb Vegas pawn shop show
Do we make mistakes? yes. but this aint one of them. We're in it for 6k, Guitar Center would pay 7k for it and price it at 10k which is exactly what we're doing
Nole0515 - thoughts on vinyl and cds? do you cringe when someone comes in with that stuff? i have acquired a few hundred albums from family that are just sitting in my basement. i dont want to throw them out, but dont want to be that guy if there isnt any appetite for that stuff. i wont be able to speak to their condition since i have never played most of them.
Lightning took out our phone lines at work. So no phone and no card processing. Comcast was like we can be there Friday. Fucking useless
So weird question. What do people do with WW2 nazi shit? I’m likely just going to store it away but I inherited a bunch of stuff a family member brought back from the war including some nazi flags among other things. I’m not going to display it for obvious reasons but also don’t want to just leave it in a storage unit forever.
Could you not just turn it down? Just throw it away imo. I'm sure you could sell it but all money ain't good money.
Either store it, trash/burn it or look into seeing if any museums want it? Idk I'd probably look into the latter. That stuff is still a part of history as awful as it is.
Yeah. It’s all this guys military stuff. They’re trophies. Not trying to sell at all, would no doubt end up in some crazy persons home. Yeah I looked into one museum site and they said they didn’t accept things acquired as tokens of war. Need to look into others.
Id just store it in an attic if its actually something a blood relative took during the war. Id also just sell it to some neonazi collector because id rather they have trinkets and not cash tbh
Sorry to report but unless you destroy it you are actually a neonazi. Hth But also you should loan to a museum or sell it and not over think it too much. It’s not like someone is going to become a Nazi because you sold them an old sword. also the origin story is important. The stuff is in your possession because the Nazis lost. Your family member likely killed them and took their stuff. It’s not exactly a pro Nazi origin story.
