This is the internet mystery currently sweeping the nation. Popular streamer signed multi million dollar contract with twitch in march. Yesterday was permanently banned on twitch and discord with no explanation. No leaks from anywhere and even internet investigators can't get to the bottom of this Spoiler It’s perhaps one of the biggest moments in streaming history, and currently, the internet’s greatest mystery. Yesterday, Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm was banned from Twitch, apparently for good. No specific reason has been publicly stated, and a small circle of those who apparently do know what’s going on aren’t talking. But everything we’re seeing is all pointing in the same troubling direction, and there’s a lot to go through. First, we have what’s official, and that’s just a frustratingly vague statement from Twitch: While I wouldn’t really expect Twitch to say the exact nature of the offense publicly, they don’t even confirm the length of the ban. But Rod “Slasher” Breslau was the first to report that the ban was permanent, and that no, despite early rumors, it had nothing to do with DMCA complaints. https://www.forbes.com/sites/paulta...-twitch-everything-known-so-far/#55cc1bbd2a16 In before "who?"
He's always pretending to interact with people offscreen so it's impossible to know in that instance if he was at that time or not
first person shooters. A lot of H1Z1 BR, then PubG, always the latest CoD, Escape from Tarkov, various other FPS. He’s easily the most entertaining streamer on Twitch imo.
Video games. Mainly FPS. Haven't watched him often, he can be pretty entertaining. Streaming persona Beahm is regarded as an entertainer in the streaming industry, rather than a "professional gamer". ESPN describes him as "a WWE character in the competitive gaming world", and he has himself said "I created a character who plays multiplayer video games, and he's considered the most dominating gaming specimen." When playing as the Dr Disrespect character, Beahm wears a black mullet wig, sunglasses, a red or black long-sleeved athletic moisture-wicking shirt, and a red or black tactical vest. One of his most notable catchphrases is "I'm on top of the mountain, and I'm only halfway up!", and his motto is "Violence. Speed. Momentum". He sports a mustache he has named "Slick Daddy" aka "The Poisonous Ethiopian Caterpillar".
As someone who barely knows wtf is going on in this thread, this would be the least satisfying outcome for me personally.
I imagine all the people who get upset with me for shitting on JRPGs are probably really mad about this
I don't think its anything that mundane. People that seem to know what happened claim its something serious. He got temporarily banned last year for streaming from a public bathroom at E3 when there was a minor in there. Also stepped away from twitch for a while after he was caught cheating with his wife at twitchcon. Speculation currently seems to be that the alleged cheating may have actually been sexual assault/rape but that's currently unfounded.
Fuck Twitch and fuck game streamers for making my fucking kids think they have to talk constantly while playing video games.
I've only known of this guy's existence for ~15 minutes but I absolutely have to know what he did to get banned now
Dr. Disrespect is a good name for a streamer and/or wrestler. I know nothing about this guy so that’s all I have to say. You are welcome.
from what I can gather from this thread he cheated with his wife and raped a minor in a public bathroom, streamed it and talked shit the whole time.
And yet I hope it's something bad while at the same time hoping the victims get the help they need to recover from it.
Overwatch is a really tacky and uninteresting multiplayer shooting game that is a meeting ground for toxic white people
i enjoy watching people at the top of their game playing games that i also play. also, it's mostly just ambient noise in the background tho tbqh
Not much for watching streams myself but I've always just thought it's probably not too different a reason from why people like watching other people play sports. It's entertaining to watch people who are elite at something do what they're elite at. And especially if they're entertaining while doing it.
