looks like the original thread was lost in the great crash. Just picked this back up
Never finished it. Need to get back to it eventually. The Witcher >>>>>> DA
I see a dragon. Good night sweet world
Yeah, they are lucky they got this game out before Witcher.
Loved the game at first but after a while it just seemed like a bunch of pointless repetition. Like, what's the point of getting your running mates approval if it never amounts to anything? Pretty good time sink game it could've just used some tightening up. The witcher III is the game it wanted to be but just never quite succeeded.
I JUST STARTED
Beginning is fucking awesome.
I also have Ryse, Evolve, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag. I could reallllly be lame these next few weeks.
Black Flag was awesome. Whatever you do, don't head towards the 4 corners of the map
What about DAI? That's the one I started last night. I'm still not far enough to where I could change shit, but for now I'm an Elf Mage named Notsira
It's great. However, this is the first time I've played a game like it. You're better off asking BlazingRebel
I have no doubt a Bioware only team could have knocked the Dragon Age series out of the park, but with the time constraints put on by EA, quality of Bioware has severely gone downhill since that merger.
That being said, you played both all the way through before putting this out there, right?
The Witcher series butchered DA in every category whether it be combat, story, RPG elements, character development everything. This is coming from a die hard DA fan.
Only place DA outpaces the Witcher is in character play type.
OK FINE I'LL BUY WITCHER AS WELL.
But seriously, I've never played any DA game so the storyline for me is not totally clear. Also, is this like Skyrim wrt character builds? Online it looks like it doesn't really matter how you build your DA character, but in Skyrim you can fuck yourself if you don't focus in certain areas.
Also... I'm in the war room (at the beginning) -- does it matter which of 3 I pick to do available quests?
Also... This is a dumb question, but I found something on the interwebs telling me to set characters to follow themselves. However, when I get to the battle screen (whatever it's called) and click on them it says "hold position" only, how do I do that or am I missing something?
Try to stay balanced
You need better gamer friends
Did you finish DAI? I'm finding the beginning slightly repetitive. It definitely doesn't have the addiction factor that Skyrim had when I first played it. (I have to compare this to Skyrim as it's the closest modern game I've played to DAI).
Anyway, I'm enjoying it, but think it could be a little bit better. There's a lot to learn for sure, and I'm not too invested in the storyline. It also seems to take too long to level-up in the early levels, so I'm kind of just completing mundane missions until I can beat some of the ones that I'm not leveled high enough for quite yet.
Don't stick around in the hinterlands for too long. I wanted to do every last little thing there and ended not leaving for the first 12 hours of playtime.
Even if I'm not leveled that much? I think I'm only level 7 right now.
I spent 30 plus hours in the Hinterlands haha
Yes, just go out to other places, advance the story and just come back. Otherwise it will just start to bore you.
Ok... Going to other places. But I haven't beaten like half of the rifts. My guys get raped on some of those right now. I can get the first 2, then WHAM 3rd time I get killed in 1 hit.
based on this thread, i'm gonna go with my gut and delete DA before getting too invested. have played about 3 hours worth and honestly I just hate the standing around slashing at a giant monster for 3-4 minutes doing the same 4 swings of the sword. just stand there and hold down RT... not for me. May try the witcher since everyone says it's much better
Went through this game when it came out. Created a new character recently and going through again now, with all the DLCs. What order and level recommendation should I tackle the DLCs on?
I started Jaws of Hakkon at level 19
Need to get back to this. Currently have MGSV and AC:Syndicate
Good to hear. Have my current character at level 13 and can't wait to get started on the DLC.
Planning on getting back into this sometime this weekend.
That seems bad
