HeAthens Homecoming expanding to four nights. Adam's House Cat headlining on Wednesday, then DBT as usual Thurs, Friday and Saturday.
so a little ashamed to say but my DBT fandom has fallen off a bit over the past few years (not cause i don't still love them, i've just gone head down with other stuff) and still haven't really listened to american band. what's the general consensus from fans? i know it got good reviews, so imma check it out regardless, but am just curious if y'all have any personal fav tracks from that record. reason i ask is because i'm going to see them in bham tonight and wanna be somewhat familiar with the newer stuff when i hear it.
It's one of their most complete albums, at least to me. It doesn't necessarily have any songs that would be in my top DBT songs of all time, but there's not a track to skip. Guns of Umpqua and Ever South are my favorite songs on that album, but it's good from top to bottom.
just finished first listen. will probs do another. really solid. roman casiano is my fav thus far but the ones Duval mentioned are def quite good as well.
show was fantastic as always. closed with zip city and an elongated version of 'what it means,' which included one of patterson's patented spoken word things. clearly made all the vest-wearing 'pubs in the crowd squirm, which is always a welcome sight.
So Isbell posted two pics of himself on the set of Deadwood. Not sure if it’s acting or music department related but excited nonetheless.
What time does it say on your ticket? There was no opener so I wanna say that the went on just after 8 and doors opened at 7
Cool thanks. Ticket has doors at 7, show at 8...doesn't look like there is an opener tonight either. I'll be coming straight from a dinner/meeting about 30-40 minutes out of town, so just trying to figure out timing. Wasn't sure if there were one of those bands who starts right on time or the usual 25-30 mins after "show time".
And this is “An Evening With Dawes” correct? They’ve fielded this question a lot of twitter and always answer get there at showtime because that’s when we’ll be going on
I've gone to two of their shows on this tour including two days ago in Chattanooga. They come on right at the time it says they will start. They play two sets with about a 20 minute intermission between them.
Also, if this is your first time seeing them, enjoy it cause they are great. I drove to Chattanooga by myself from Atlanta just to see them on Sunday. By far my favorite band.
Kudos to the people putting on this festival. That’s a hell of a lineup. I wish we could get something like this around here.
Incredible show last night, it was my first time seeing them live. Venue holds about 1,500 and I'd guess there were maybe 500-600 people there, very intimate. They also filmed the show for some sort of Americana Roots TV episode. Had 4-5 cameras on the stage and moving around the audience/venue, so that will be cool once they release it.
Replying in here just so the other thread isn’t muddied up. DBT in its infancy was very much a southern fried punk act. They’ve toned it down a little with age but it’s still outstanding music imo.
Yeah my bad. I have a tendency of doing that. I just go off about whatever’s on my mind in whatever thread I’m in. I know it might annoy some people. I’ll contribute some stuff to this thread though.
One of my friends that I grew up with recently joined this band. Crusty punk kids that got bored playing thrash and went the folk punk route. I’m gonna try to get them to play in my backyard when they’re close by.
Tonight begins three nights of Isbell acoustic shows at a small historic theatre here in Birmingham. My body is ready.
Probably already posted but that would be awesome to play with Jason and co (Not my first time seeing it)
This is my good friends brother’s band. Ryan is kind of a dick but still a friend. His little bro who is my age just died tragically which sucks. I guess they are pretty big.

Think I've posted these guys before, but they're definitely on the way up right now. This song is pretty awesome too.
