I didn’t say you suck, man. I just disagree with your opinion on this.
There are a few of his bigger/more beloved songs that I don't like as much.
I respect that. It’s pretty damn hard to do an Isbell Top 10 and impossible to do a top five
I love overseas, but it doesn’t make my top 10. Now if I’m in the truck, windows down on a nice day and at a red light .... you bet I’m air guitaring at the person in the car next to me.
It’s been my first isbell song I throw on for the past year. Hate to say the other songs on Reunions haven’t had the same effect on me. But overseas just sticks out to me. Can’t wait to see it live again.
Big fan of dreamsicle and only children.
I’ll be 18 four years from now
With different friends in a different town
I’ll finally be free
Hit me like a brick truck first time I heard it
Still love Dreamsicle
I’ve always been shocked by the lack of love for Relatively Easy
This is my favorite on reunions by far. Not sure writing get much better than this..
"Heaven's wasted on the dead"
That's what your mama said
When the hearse was idling in the parking lot
She said you thought the world of me
And you were glad to see
They finally let me be an astronaut
I’ve posted this in here before but it’s remarkable how he tells an entire story in 4 lines, that’s one of my favorites too
I lost a good friend
Christmastime when folks go off the deep end
His woman took the kids and he took klonopin
Enough to kill a man of twice his size
Songs That She Sang in the Shower very underrated imhv
We’ve met is a great song IMO.
Not for me to understand
Remember him when he was still a proud man?
A vandal's smile, a baseball in his right hand
Nothing but the blue sky in his eye
I’ve been known to get teary around this verse
Dreamsicle still gets a ton of play on Spectrum on SiriusXM.
So is Live Oak. People don’t make songs like that anymore
Y’all’s lists are wrong and mine is correct
Missed the Relatively Easy discussion but that is one of my favorite Isbell songs. Southeastern is such a heavy album, largely written right around a difficult point in his life. To end it with a song that oozes perspective is just *chef’s kiss* to me.
yep, might be his best.
I’m a big fan of all of you that like good music
I also am beginning to be a big fan of this Father John Misty feller
I really didn’t like this response
l’m literally wearing a Dawes hoodie
Respect , please
I’m just joshing with you about phrasing. Relax my dude
Calmer than you are , Josh ;)
My favorite isbell songs are nearly everything he puts out. I can play any of his albums through completely and still want to listen to it again as soon as it's over.
He and Isbell toured together a couple years back. It was great.
Cooley headlining a benefit show for striking Union mine workers is cool as hell.
If anyone has, or gets, the presale code for Isbell tomorrow I would be very appreciative if you shared
Thank you sir
You better be going all 4 nights
Between this and Anderson East tickets in January I’m happy to be filling my calendar up with shows again
Tickets at The Tabernacle = acquired. Cannot wait to hear him live again. I’ve missed you so much bb
Does anyone know how to find a presale code for Isbell's Schaumburg, IL show? Worth a shot.
Got it with REUNIONS.
Was just guessing what it might be and I got it.
Fwiw, I thought you were calling me a Boomer
Thank you Nole0515 for following the tag me at every mention of Dawes rule. Love this version of Mistakes We Should Have Made
Man, Isbell at the Tab and DBT at the Variety are gonna slap
as the two biggest Dawes fans on the boards it is our duty
Great Walls cover. Such a good song. Endless Petty deep cuts out there
fest tickets for Under the Big Sky purchased
Great interview. Only Children could be a Prine song, although he was more referring to directly pulling from sings I guess.
