I've got too much work to even think about drinking. This was the perfect time to do dry January for me
I wonder why people feel like they need to drink during sporting events [Cut to massive amounts of alcohol advertisements]
Before Covid big sporting events were typically a reason to get together from a social stand point, hence the drinking association.
with me it’s more about grilling and relaxing I usually only drink Saturday so it works out that I grill, have a few drinks and watch the game.
This weekend was tough. Took my son to the zoo and couldn't help but notice every person with a beer which seemed like damn near everyone.
I never understood drinking at a place like a zoo with your kids, is it really that fucking necessary to have a $14 bud light and look at Monkeys in a cage?
If beer is served people will drink it's science. Dave and Busters was no doubt spawned from parents wishing they could drink at Chuck E Cheese.
You can get drunk at Chuck E. Cheese’s. They have cheap pitchers and it’s the old school large/tall pitchers.
All my Covid weight is gone. Broke the 250 mark this morning. From 262.4 on Dec 26 to 249.8 on 1/19. Shooting for 242.4 on 2/5 cause all the beers will be drank on super bowl weekend.
One day doesn't make the month a failure. Dust yourself off I know I'm only doing weekdays but I really wanted a drink tonight. Thought of this thread and decided to push on until the weekend.
Have been drinking a little bit on 5 day vacation but nothing crazy. Will finish off the last 10 days of the month dry. Good enough for me.
On cruise control now, but already planning that first bourbon on February 1st. Sucks we’ve got 2 weekends left though
The wife is going out of town February 19th for the weekend. I might ride dry January till then and just get blackout and finish my last bit of shrooms I’ve been holding on to. We shall see.
My wife nearly went back home last weekend to see her family with our one year old. Would have been my first weekend alone since she was born. Don’t think dry January would have survived with that nfl slate.
Had that happen one weekend a few months ago where my wife took the kids to visit her sister and ended up staying the night. The solitude was glorious.
Curios if this was a safe place for the herb smokers taking some time off. Guess only the drunks are allowed in here.
Trying. Not gonna lie and say I don’t smoke for the enjoyment. But it’s also been my crutch to sleep at night.
I figure you're not truly "sober" unless you're off weed, alcohol, and everything. Still tough to draw a line though because what about caffeine, what about prescription medicine, etc. There's a lot of little things that take the edge off of life
That's much harder than not drinking, imo, at least from my experience. The dependency on to sleep and even eat was pretty consistent way back years ago when I smoked daily.

Agreed. Sometimes it’d just be nice if people could manage to keep the politics in the politics thread(s). Not everyone let’s it run their lives.
