Portal players also advance more quickly so some start already in top 5, which is why they can visit already week 1, and teams not in top 5 locked out
Im in an online dynasty that finally made it to the first offseason and I noticed this too. Thought I missed something. Guess there is some in game tampering going on.
where you edit a players number, you can also edit their position during the season. you just miss out on potential progress from the offseason progression
I've had issues with them being changed to archetypes that make them worse when editing during season. For example I had a DE who was a 78 and listed as a power rusher where in depth charts he was an 80 as a DT. So in season I switched his position to DT and his rating dropped to 74 and it now showed he was a run stopper. Trying to undo it, I switched him back to DE and he was still a run stopper and only a 75...
I’ve noticed this too even for formation subs. I had one RB who was a 79 when looking at the depth chart and other spots…but if I subbed him in for the I-Form he fell to like a 69, I assume because he wasn’t a power back or whatever.
When can fire staff in dynasty. Is it really only during conference champ week? I have a sc with a Hawaii pipeline
yes, it is due to his archetype same with if you put a run stopper DT that is highly rated into the pass rush DT depth chart; he might go from 91 overall to low 80s or even high 70s
I haven’t tried to replicate this so it’s anecdotal but I’ve seen something similar and then in the next off-season they improve like 10-12 points rather than the normal 0-5.
playing guys out of their specialty does seem to amplify their progression, which I think is pretty cool
I have moved a WR in the 60s to DB and he was an 83 after training. Kinda cool, kinda wild. all his db stats were in the 40s/50s
Recruit physical WRs and move them to TE, deep threat WRs with good carrying are cheat codes at RB. But the ultimate cheat code is getting scrambling QBs that are labeled as athletes and moving them to wherever they’re best or you need to fill spots. They’re usually the shit at any skilled spot. My last class had a 4 star gem physical WR that was a 75 at WR and a 82 at TE day 1. I moved a sophomore deep threat WR that was a 81 and he was a 87 RB and then after training was a 91. He was a 99 his junior year. I signed 2 5 star scramblers and one was an athlete, he was a 79 at QB but 83+ at every skilled spot. He was a 85 RB and S, 84 WR and OLB, 83 TE and ILB, I moved him to RB cause I like having 95+ speed and acceleration
under tactician, there is a cross training skill. you can cross train OL to DL or WR to DB (or vice versa) it adds boosts to OL for their power move, block shedding, Play recognition, and pursuit it adds boosts to DL for their pass and run block, along with finesse and power run block it adds boosts to WR for Man and zone coverage, pursuit, and play recognition it adds boosts to DB for short, medium, and deep routes along with release I have bought all 4 levels here and rarely if ever use it lol side note, my next HC and I am gonna seriously reconsider abilities allocation
If you look at other teams best players I have found that a lot of people have 90+ MLB. I have two 90+ and an 89 so it seems like their progression is rapid. I have never remembered to do this but need to look at moving the fastest one to SS. I also haven’t been able to recruit or develop a strong safety to 88+ in a 15 year career so far. Has been my weakest position on the field for a decade straight.
I moved an ath ILB to SS because he was better there and had 92 speed and 93 acceleration. I don’t even really recruit that spot unless it’s a 5 star or a high 4 star gem. I usually recruit FS and just move them to SS because I’ve had better luck with that and they’re normally faster. Or a slot or zone CB at SS. A lot of them are better at S than CB
Interesting. While SS is probably my weakest defensive spot, I did bring in a 4 star elite run support SS that started at 75 and left after 5 years (3 as starter) as a 95 overall Had a few others peak at 91 to 93 Meanwhile I have developed 16 guys to 99 (4 were 4 star recruits) 2 RB 2 WR 7 OL 2 DE 3 LB Had 17 others get to 97 or 98 but only 1 DB lol. It's odd how I struggle to attract and develop elite DBs
Simmed a lot of season 2 since I screwed up the roster. Would play till a 2 possession game then sim till the end. Went 7/20/3 for 5/4/3 *s (3* K/P/FB). Both coordinators left to be HCs and the replacement options were horrible. That’s lame. In the old version when you recruited and Ath you chose where they started but it looks like they always dump them into QB. Guess I’ll just redshirt and move them next offseason. Think I’m 94 ovr with 96 off 93 def. Been a few hours since I looked at that so I might be wrong.
At position change, go to the overall roster, sort the entire rostet by position, and find the Athletes and select what position to move them to
ATH WRs, ATH LBs, and hybrid/zone safeties are the way to go. my LB core is usually all athlete LBs + a field general or pass coverage gem. Safeties are a mix of all of the above. 6’6 ath WR with 95+ speed at FS is fun. They usually come with ballhawk and layout
I have gone all in on hard sells every week. Don't even bother with visits. Just prioritize your top however many guys your points allows to give 50 each week then switch to 40 when hard sell is available. Guys will be committing by like week 4 and you just fill in after.
as soon as hard sell becomes open, I start pitching it. I also pitch soft sell instead of "friends and family" I go all in on recruits; hard and soft sell and then any other pitch to get to their limit (be it 65, 75, or 80 hours) I also recruit at 60% 5 stars and have had 9 consecutive #1 classes, so, I'd say this strategy works
I don't ignore visits. I think they still make a difference, especially in tight battles but if you have a massive lead for a guy, you can probably save the 40 hr spend for that guy
Recruiter skill tree should have a perk that lets you reduce the hours it takes to schedule visits 40 is crazy
how many guys are you putting on your board to start with? I try to keep in under 20 with majority being 5 stars. I then might get 13 to 16 of those guys to commit then I'll look for 4 star gems to round out my class but my focus is straight 5 stars from the beginning plus 4 stars in the top 100 who have me 1st; I target these 4 stars strictly looking for insta commits. if they don't want in, they get no hours until my big game hunting is complete
This would be good news. In my main online dynasty, my conference schedule in two straight years now goes 4 home, 4 road, 1 home. So most of the time, I can't get visits scheduled anyway.
I fill all 35 but don't do anything with a lot of them. They are just kind of there so I know some other guys I liked in case I need to pivot off a guy, his replacement is already on the board
It looks like you get the points every week. I watched a video that shows how to determine if you should “sell” or just do a regular action. Essentially this guy ranked A+ (13), A (12), A- (11), all the way to D- (2) F (1). If your 3 things your selling add up to 21-22+ then selling makes sense. If it’s 17 or less, just do the regular action. He said 18-20 is kind of grey and not a huge difference.
what coaching archetypes are you using? not progressing in season? or not progressing as much as you wanted following the training portion of offseason? are the players you have fitting your scheme? what are there development traits (normal, impact, star, elite?) I know that's a lot of questions, but the answers will help us diagnose and provide assistance
Look at whatever the yellow coaching arc is called. Believe you have to get it to the 3rd level on the specific position groups
Seems pretty clear coaching trees aren't getting any real changes this year - really hope they overhaul it next year. The limit and being able to max out as a coordinator are both terrible.
Wear and Tear is still so fucking busted in this game. The past 3 games my 3rd string RB has ended up playing for an entire quarter. Starting RB probably gets 7-8 carries before he starts spontaneously leaving the game for 4-5 minute spurts.
have you adjusted auto sub settings? if sub in is too high, the guy never gets to the necessary threshold my guys only disappear when up by 5+ scores
Does switching your coaches scheme/playbook still upset players and make them leave or anything in year 1 of a dynasty? Tight requirements for selecting 1-1.5* teams in a new dynasty and the triple option teams are already taken
transfer portal preview skill in ceo has to be the most worthless in the game given how the portal works
