I kind of see why that one guy had some rules for his dynasty a couple pages ago. I’m currently in one, and a guy has a WR who has 112 receptions for 3,150 yards and 45TDs. He also has a SS with 24 sacks and OLB with 23.5 sacks. This is through NINE GAMES lol
Yeah I have the opposite issue these days. I start zoning out sometimes and start picking random plays and they turn into disasters.
yeah lately I’ve been trying new formations and plays out. Just kinda seeing what weird shit is out there. Love plays with motions before the snap.
This. Have been running Liberty and Jax State playbooks lately, should create my own but I’m always high when I play so I don’t remember shit
I was playing with some ideas in the free practice thing and found a couple concepts that were like 90% success rates in the free practice on intermediate passes downfield. I'm sitting here thinking I've got some great shit to throw at my next user opponent. Get into the real game and tried running a few of them...disaster. Like a 10% success rate. I threw 5 interceptions. Got blown out. And it's not even like the user was doing anything to make it happen. I was throwing to the opposite side of the field usually from where he was running his LB. My wide receivers just decided they didn't want to run the routes called and were just kind of running out there and floating about. Ran a few comeback routes and my guys would never make the cut back. It was weird af.
Minus a couple favorites in pressure situations, I run my offense exclusively from the "coach suggestions" page.
I cannot run a DIY reverse to save my life and it will lose me a possession at least once every few games.
Based on the inconsistency of pitching during an option play, I can't imagine trying to pull off multiple in a single play.
every time I try the mf pitches it 20 yards into the backfield even when the pitch man is right beside him. Infuriating. One day I’ll land it and it’ll be the most satisfying play ever even if it goes for 2 yards.
This is my experience 1 out of every 5 option plays I run. I rage every time but I love the option so much, I just keep going back to it.
I run the shit out of option plays when I’m playing the computer but I’m scared to do it against users due to the risk of fumbling it 10 yards backwards
I’ve had multiple returned for TDs against the computer, too. It doesn’t help that your RB goes full dickhands trying to pick it up, even if he’s the first one back to the ball, every fucking time.
This has sparked controversy in the dynasty. Would turning the speed threshold help with this? We’re not trying to make a ton of tweaks/add any self-governing (yet) so this could be the easiest way. What do you guys have it set on?
I have speed threshold set to 65 currently don't feel like it impacts pass rush like it does WRs in open field
Those deep threat WRs don't progress at all in Running categories though do they? That was my problem I ran into with moving Ath to various positions. If they weren't at their natural position (archetype on the Ath tells you where the game thinks they should be) then their progression inbetween seasons didn't help them at their new position one bit. Mine was moving Ath RB to MLB to have speed there in early years of a dynasty. Guy stayed as a 71ovr MLB for 3 seasons and never improved in tackling/shed/moves/pursuit/coverage.
how many weeks was the injury supposed to be? could be bad news for one guy in our dynasty who played a 5* TrFr QB in a game this week and got hit with a 33 week pectoral tear
I’ve learned that the weeks do not seem to be accurate unless things have changed. I had a guy that should’ve been back week 2-3 the next year and he was out the whole season. Make people stream their games and have them saved. If they’re cheesing, call them out, or limit play calls?
Those stats are just how it goes when you have a lot of CPU games on the schedule. Unless you play with custom sliders, it's just not worth risking glitchy robo-QB bullshit when playing the CPU vs. calling double-A mid blitz that you know will stop anything fucky from happening on 3rd and long passing situations. Our dynasty has half of the heisman list as pass rushers every year. I normally call "regular" defense for most of the game until it's under 2min in the 1H or if the CPU is down big and "the script" kicks in. Once I'm in either of those situations I just don't want to deal with the CPUs bullshit, because typically around the same time their defense switches on the insta-shed feature and my offense miraculously stops working as well. Our league we play ~7 user games a year so you really can't afford to lose a single CPU game and confidently still make the CFP. So it's a necessary evil to cheese D the computer. Don't think the speed threshold would help you out there, but on A-A I'm a big proponent of raising the speed threshold for anti-speed WR cheese.
I hate limiting playcalls on D vs. users. If you could toggle it on/off for user and CPU games I'd be in favor of it. But there's like 20 shotgun formations that all have the same plays and personnel to essentially run the same play while others are on cool down and that's just not the case for defensive playbooks
What are you guys considering cheesing? Because I run a spread offense and if you come 5 in the box only I'm inside zone hand-off everytime and taking my 5-10 yards usually every play right down the field. Is that cheesing if they never adjust to put a 6th man in the box? I run multiple different sets and plays when I hit the red zone, but between the 20s I'm running one formation and 5-10 different plays total depending on the look the defense gives me. I had a friend in my online dynasty beat me by 30 using similar plays over and over, I took some pride in next game out adjusting and being able to stop them and seeing him struggle to run an offense once I shut it down
Yeah our biggest issue is we only play 1-3 user games a year because of the custom schedule issues. So we don’t know what the guy is doing but his WR is 99 speed so we assume he just throws it deep and runs past the bad CPU teams and I guess finds it entertaining to do that every play lol We don’t really want to mess with sliders. The 2 things we saw in settings where speed threshold and the adaptive AI but not sure if that even applies to ODs.
vs. the CPU = running the double-a mid-blitz. tbh on AA with a good defense you can run it every single play if you want to and probably get 10+ sacks per game. I don't currently know any legit cheese offense to run against the CPU. They stop you when the game decides they should, even if it's been working for 3+ quarters vs. Users = the old snap and scramble routine. An elite DL can shut it down but IMO there's way too many 90+ speed QBs out there in recruiting classes every year. Moreso cheese in a dynasty filled with users for offense is the position changes people seemingly have embraced ITT. WR > TE and WR > RB (as well as safety to LB) would get laughed out of the room in our league. Couldn't imagine playing in a league where people freely move big fast WRs to TE or 95+ speed WRs to RB. Would almost force you to turn the speed threshold up to 100 so every LB wouldn't be at a huge disadvantage in man coverage matchups
That’s why you also have rules about position changes (must be less than x speed or must be at least 225 lbs to convert a WR to TE). I actually like the non cheese rules except it’s frustrating when you’re trying to run a no huddle offense and you’re in a formation that isn’t switchable for whatever reason.
Holy crap, they did a BND training pack on the new program and first one I got 93 Morrison. He looks incredible
I haven’t got crap this season. I’ve got one more time through HH and Restrepo is maxed. One time the HH card gave me the 89 SS from Oregon, every other time it’s the 86 CB, which does nothing but quick sell for 500 training. I got an 89 MLB in some pack but everything else this season has just been sell for training.
same but I can overcome a dumb TO or two against the computer. much tougher against a person. my current rb is pretty good at picking up the ball
The score by qtr doesn't remotely match the game itself lol. The top says 38-24 Meanwhile the final was clearly 32-30 if you look at points for in the itemized boxscore
At least 3 times a season I see something like this. Rarely off by this much. But I'll win like 45-14 and the qtr scores will show 42-10 or something dumb The little fuck ups like this just make me chuckle Just like the terrible stat tracking on red zone tds compared to attempts. I probably get a td +90% of the time yet every year it shows I'm around 45%. It's like it counts every play you ran in the RZ instead of every possession that reached the RZ
Watching Kennesaw upset Liberty is bringing an unexplainable joy lol Thanks CFB 25 for making me care about this program
twice in a row after playing the same game I received a “could not enter franchise mode. An error was found trying to enter franchise mode” and it doesn’t count it. Anyone ever have this problem and know a solution
I played a game this morning in my online dynasty against Okie State. Won 30-24. Turned off the PS5 and left town for a work thing. Brought my PS5 with me so I can play these next few days. Get to my hotel and fire it up. Go to my dynasty and it shows I never played the Okie State game (but the schedule shows the game was played 1x). wtf…
We had a guy Wednesday in my non-TMB OD win a game with a Hail Mary at the buzzer and when he got back to the menu it didn’t save the result. He recorded the play to show us the crazy finish. Since it didn’t save but we knew he won we just did a “force win” but I doubt it keeps the stats and all that.
Even funnier because the commentators also use those stats during game discussion. They'll mention how you team is struggling in the redzone or on 3rd down but if you go to season stats, you can be leading the country by a wide margin.
I still love the game but I do love how they hyped up how much Herbie and Fowler spent getting the audio ready and you basically never play with them announcing the game.
Can they please get some better stats next season (Madden was/is the same)? Being unable to look at team stats on offense or defense by simple things like yards per play is maddening. I'm not asking for success rate and EPA just some nice, simple stuff, and not having to sort by "total yards for the season". I mean, shit, can't they just strike a deal with ESPN for Bill's SP+ formulas and import those into the game. GIVE US SOMETHING!
I'd gladly take a 6 figure salary and help them build out all the areas that need more extensive tracking from recruiting (caliber of players signed, traits, pipelines, general progression, etc), to stat tracking year over year, to historical rosters, to game box scores, etc pretty much everything I have in my excel workbook should also be included in the game also, it would be nice if we could export the roster (or use the final form post bowls) for play now. I'd love to see how my 2029 OSU stacks up with 2034 OSU. or 2028 Kennesaw vs one of my OSU juggernauts I give them some slack because this is the first game in a decade. but they need to build on this quite a bit for 2025 and beyond. so hit me up, EA, let me help you make a game that would legit be worth the price tag lol
I wish there was a way to just save created players that way when they do updated rosters later today I don't have to re create those players that still aren't in the game again I can just add the missing ones to the updated rosters
Simple display aesthetics of stuff that is already there would be great. The season stats of Heisman candidates, development trait from the transfer and position change screens, etc.
Maddens had a lot of similar statistical problems for years so I wouldn’t count on it being fixed anytime soon. Madden wise i’ve noticed it corrects itself once you get back to the main menu. “Live” stat counting HMIs seem to be harder for software engineers than it would appear to someone from the outside looking in.
I'd just settle for being able to look at defensive stats for the season nationally and it actually show the other user teams' players. The 2 ODs I'm in only show your team + cpu teams on the national tab.
