Offline. It shouldn’t be all that difficult a fix considering the game already will do it on its own and even have a team getting blown out take out the starters. You’d think with the lack of substitutions in simulated games there’d be more 1000 yard rushers from other teams instead of the 2-3 at most I’ve gotten.
For hours in recruiting: I just started and only have 50 hrs per recruit. That means you can only talk to the family and soft sell or something along those lines. Do you guys talk to the family one wk and then "remove" that and add something else the next wk or does removing something mean you never did it in the first place? Also, what else do you get out of scouting a player besides seeing what they like?
Ultimately 40 is the magic number because that is the cost of hard sell and the most impactful pitch So 40 hrs per recruit is the ultimate goal once recruits cut to top 5 and open the hard sell pitch. Then you can at least pair the 10 hr pitch with it as an all in approach
25 hrs for those I lead for At least 40 for guys I'm 2nd or 3rd Max for all others (in this case 50 hrs) This is my ideal allocation to get them to their top 5 cut off asap
I believe the “influence” is added week by week. So if you have Friends and Family and get 3 arrows or whatever…you get that every week it’s applied. If you take it off and exchange it for Send the House you’d start to get 4-5 arrows of influence instead.
I think your situation is similar to what I was asking earlier. See the CB reply above that might help a little.
It doesn’t really matter what you do in year 1 recruiting wise because your class won’t end up as good as you want it. Year 2 it gets easier assuming you did well.
It’s also really important to know when to cut bait on a recruit. If it’s clear you’re not getting them, just let them go. No sense in wasting points.
And I would add that recruiting in offline dynasties is much different than online. Visits matter more and getting out to an early lead on a guy is huge if you're competing against other users.
I'll try asking this again. How do you max your allotment out on a recruit at the beginning and then also Soft Sell them later once you are in the top three? You already used your max allotment of hours on them??? Also, you say not to waste your time on Sway or Visits which contradicts this
If Oregon, Georgia, or Ohio State have offered the recruit and have gained grown on me on the interest bar, I cut bait and tell my fanbase that the scholarship offer was pulled for unspecified reasons.
Every player has a maximum of either 50, 65, 75 (maybe 80 but I could be mistaken) based on their position that can be spent per week.
What’s your consideration for guys you can’t hard sell for because you are D/C in their three green checks? Early on in your dynasty before you can build up your program.
They’re powerful enough offline to the point where I’ve had massive leads and the player committed to a school they just visited.
max allotment means whatever the max hours are for a recruit for the week, that's what you use. once your coach has built up his recruiting archetype, 50 isn't the max, it's 65, 70, maybe even 85. ideally, you want at least 60 hours on a guy which is the hard sell (40 hrs) and soft sell (20 hrs) and then you max the remaining available (65, 75, etc) with the other remaining pitches. I've even maxed a pitch with a hard sell and two softs example: 5 star DE doesn't have me top 10 coming out of preseason week 1 I pitch send the house (50 hrs), friends and family (25 hrs) because his max is 75 week 2 he now has me 2nd so I keep the 50 hrs on him for send house and reallocate the 25 elsewhere on my board week 3 he cuts to top 5 and I now lead for him. so I take off send house and apply hard sell. make sure the sell has his deal breaker as part of the pitch week 4 he's nearing top 3 but still not there yet. at this time if you have resources available, throw a soft sell on him for 20 hrs week 5 he's cut to a top 3. I add in search socials (5 hrs) and the dm (10 hrs) to max at 75 hrs once week 5 ends, he picks my school and those 75 hours can be redistributed elsewhere in week 6 since you have 50 as your max, at top 3 you want hard sell plus DM player (10 hrs) but your next coordinator hire being a guy who focuses on recruiting, or spending your coaching points on recruiting, will up the max from 50 to at least 60 and you will be set moving forward in order to hard and soft sell at the same time as for visits, I've played 39 seasons on this game, I haven't used a visit in the last 20 (at minimum). I pull 18 five stars per cycle on average. visits are a waste of time once your program is remotely competent. it costs 40 hours to schedule and it a lot of instances the kid commits before he ever steps on campus. if you want to use them, go for it. but I'd rather hard sell mixed with other pitches and take my chances
Very important to pay attention to pipelines as well if you have no pipeline and someone has blue or pink and goes after them you’re toast.
Thanks, I didnt realize that it was per wk that I was pitching the same guys. If I allocated 50 hrs to someone I just left those same 50 hrs the same until he committed or not. I'm just in the middle of my first year so now it is starting to make more sense.
as long as two of the three parts of the pitch are at least A-, I still hard sell the 3 green checks. this happens now even at my peak any time I go after a kid out west that cares remotely about proximity to home I have a strong contingent of players from Cali on my FSU dynasty and pacific northwest is a pipeline for OSU on my other. I definitely lose some recruits due to this knock on my pitches, but you can still overcome it. but unless it's a deal breaker, you should be okay more often than not
It rolls over week to week and if they commit to you or elsewhere those points go back over on your allotment.
no problem. if you have other question feel free to tag me. I play this way too much and even have contemplated a dynasty strictly based around recruiting and not playing games lol. now that I have this system to recruit, my rosters are flatout absurd
I don't think he contradicted it at all. He's talking purely offline dynasties. My post was in case you are discussing an online one, I've seen both talked about in recent posts. Visits aren't really necessary against cpu because they don't typically use points efficiently.
there should be a 2nd portal window after you cut your roster down to 85 I'd like to see where all my underachievers end up when I revoke their schollie lol
that, and the game treating the portal as an extension of recruiting. you can't see the ratings of portal players, which is silly, and they're not included in offseason training, which is sillier
Yeah my league just skips through the portal season Maybe they are trying to balance not pissing users off over having their best players leave and also not being able to just load up even more compared to computer rosters. That balance hasn’t been found
NIL collective should be something with a grade that recruits care about. And like your facilities, the more your prestige goes up, the better your grade (or bigger your war chest)
In my first dynasty I had Jeremiah Smith transfer after year 1 despite having over 1200 yards receiving, setting whatever the single season receiving TDs record was, and winning the natty. I instantly deleted the file.
yeah, if you aren't a top 10 passing attack, he gets a little bitchy lol despite force feeding him the ball (his deal breaker is playing style -> pass ypg nat'l rank)
Is there anything I need to do to make sure my DBs actually jump for passes? Seems like if my DBs don’t get immediately blown past, they just run next to the WR and let him catch it anyways and rarely tackle after. Is it because I’m holding sprint? I try Y and LB and nothing works.
I user control DBs as often as possible. and I try to time my switch to right before the ball is to the WR and then hit Y/Triangle
I swear I’ll be running with the guy and hit Y and the dude doesn’t do anything not even a hand up. It seems random when it actually works. If it’s going to be a TD either way my guy might as well jump for the tip
to be fair, they did try to avoid the nonsense of a DB having eyes in the back of his head and jumping blindly there are some youtube vids with tips on pass D and essentially you to attempt to jump/swat after the WR tips the pass is incoming. Can't link now, but check youtube essentially you need to be able to see the ball coming (ie making a play with a safety) or the WR needs to give a sign the ball is incoming so the DB can react also, DB ability plays massively into this as well
Makes sense. I was wondering if maybe I’m not as close as it seems from the camera angle and that’s why my guy isn’t in position to play the ball.
How many picks am I leaving on the table by just letting my DBs deal with defending with the pass once it’s thrown?
a lot lol I've played roughly 1000 games of offline dynasty. My pass defense with OSU 52.5% completions 7.6 ypa 1 TD vs 1.8 INTs per game 7.0 sacks per game with Kennesaw 53.5% completions 9.3 ypa 1.4 TDs vs 1.1 INTs per game 5.6 sacks per game with Florida St 54.0% completions 8.5 ypa 1.2 TDs vs 1.9 INTs per game 6.1 sacks per game I've had a DB win Best DB about 80% of the time across all dynasties. and set the single season INT record at 17 with Edwin Joseph at FSU in 2026 on my FSU dynasty while I had 16 with a DB at OSU on my other dynasty in like year 2041 my top DB is around 8 to 10 INTs each year on average
What defenses do you guys like against a user that mostly runs. A lot of options, sweeps, touch passes, Qb designed runs
Can’t remember the exact wording but I set the read option thing to conservative (meaning they play the QB) and the pitch man to aggressive (they play the pitch). Most people will end up giving up on the read option when the QB never has the pull. On pitch option plays most people will try and force the pitch when they shouldn’t. This is the most important part to defending the option, IMO. Defense i use the multiple playbook and would run cover 3 hard flat out of the 4-3 formations if my opponent was spamming that all game. And as always, set the edge rushers to contain.
Is this in your OD? 3-3-5 Mint is the best defensive playbook out there. But just as important is making sure you have run stoppers on the DL and MLB. Edge rushers on contain and QB spy also.
