I'm not watching all of that, but he has the play I was bitching about the other day in one of his main formation audibles.
Okay, so I took a screenshot of a player to ask this question. This player has met the requirements for silver duress, bronze pocket disruptor, and silver take down. Would it be a terrible idea during position changes for me to just move him to LB, and then back to DE, which I'm hoping would automatically trigger the ability upgrades?
Because of a lack of social life I’m available to play tonight and can stream for all of TMB to witness
Beat devine 23-20 in a hard fought game on a last second field goal. Could hear him sobbing as the game chat ended.
After being constantly annoyed my DBs never make a play on the ball, this happens when they finally do lol this game pisses me off so bad
This game got me back on track to make the playoffs. Proceeded to get completely outclassed by a guy using ASU in the next game. His offense was OK, his defense was next level and bagged me the entire game.
I such ass on defense and I really need to get better. It’s probably the biggest thing holding me back along with red zone offense.
Early on it seemed like my defense was what kept me in games but now it’s just a matter of time before some fast guy manages to get 2-3 steps on my DB and there’s no looking back. It won’t happen but I really hope the next game isn’t so dependent on speed it’s started to make the game pretty stale for me. I also have issues in the red zone for whatever reason. I assume the lack of space messes with me as it feels like I’m facing 15 defenders lol
Watched one of the youtubers recently with a random team and he just subbed in the fastest player at every position lol. There was a few exceptions but overall speed is almost all that matters.
Didn’t know that but I don’t use it a ton. It happens a lot in zone, my CB will be covering the deep sideline and he’s with the WR for awhile then all the sudden the guy blows past him. It’s either speed related, or I notice the animation sometimes makes my DB do anything else besides keeping up with him. Like back pedaling, turns and is running with the WR, then he’ll randomly back pedal or turn for no reason and that allows the WR to get by and there’s no turning back.
Don’t get me wrong, I get it to an extent that speed should matter but it’s so OP it kind of takes away some of the “chess match” of it. Also in dynasty mode it seems to make recruiting not as big of a deal if you can just close the gap by finding some speedy guys. I’ve posted about it before but my non-TMB dynasty’s the other guys basically just do what the video you watched did. Then these guys are hanging 100+ on the CPU by throwing to the same guy 10 times. Which playing that way is zero fun for me, but it’s hard to compete. These guys also fight back anytime someone wants to change difficulty/sliders because apparently they’re afraid the CPU will put up a challenge (that’s not EAs fault I’m just still annoyed)
Is there a different way to switch defensive players pre-snap other than just circle (on PS)? I feel like I can never get to the guy I want in time and end up playing a defender out of position while I figure out which guy I picked up at the snap.
Yea if I'm playing Texas, it shuts down what I can run bc Bond will run by single coverage even if they aren't pressed. That's ridiculous bc he's not great irl, he's just fast. But a guy like Luther Burden that's rated much high can be left on an island all game and he's not getting deep balls. They have to find a way to fix the speed on WR's.
Yeah that’s what’s annoying. In real life speed can makeup for some shortfalls obviously but this game makes it seem like any Olympic sprinter would be Jerry Rice lol
Also is there something I’m missing with deep passes? I use the placement one, but the rare chance I have a guy deep the ball doesn’t seem to lead him, or maybe there’s not enough air under it. Either way, it seems like the DB swats it 9/10 of the time even though I have a couple steps.
Do you do the high ball modifier on those? Sometimes that helps get more loft so the DB doesn’t swat it.
High ball (LB) or push forward on the stick as you throw to lead the receiver downfield. Also usering the receiver and hitting Y triggers aggressive catch which will make your guy jump for it
Haven’t tried LB. Will have to remember that. Seems like when I user my WR they never jump they just put their hands out expecting an over the shoulder catch while the DB goes up and swats it lol I wish they had a better “tutorial” system for the people like me who never really played Madden so all of this shit is new lol
Imo best way to do it is just hop on practice mode, either from the main screen or in the OD, and just hit random play for both O and D, and get a bunch of reps in. You can run like 100 plays against the computer in 30 minutes
Holy shit lol the first pass I threw with that I did it just to test it. Easily the least open my WRs have been but the dude actually went up and caught it. No wonder I suck at this game.
I wish you could see in practice mode after the play what the offense and defense were running. I like to try to guess what defense I’m up against but never know for sure.
Played a bunch of games on Road to CFP today. Won every one so far but I’m using Bama because I use their playbook in my dynasty. I hate that you can’t use any stock playbook and pick a different team.
The qb throws the ball at a higher angle to get it over the defender. You hold LB as you throw it to your receiver. So you could lob and high ball at the same time
These aren’t the best examples but these would’ve both been picked if they weren’t high balls. You have to be careful with them in certain situations. A good time to use them is if you’re running a streak from the slot and the defender is just slightly trailing you. Normally that would get picked off but if you time it well with the high ball you’re guy will come down with it. High balling the tight end in the red zone is a good use too.
I have a hilarious example of a high ball modifier that I just threw to win a playoff game in Road to CFP. I included the other user’s FG to take the lead for lulz. Note: It worked primarily because the idiot user took control of the DB and ran the wrong way.
If you have someone spamming this play (Ace Double Wing: HB Stretch), how do you stop it? https://cfb.fan/25/playbooks/boise-state-off/singleback-ace-double-wing/hb-stretch/# Edit: I have learned that a double edge blitz in 3-3-5 split will stop it almost every time. However, if they audible to a pass play I’m cooked.
