strong pitch, weak/light pitch, and fake pitch are for sure types I know of I never run the option though so that's all I got
Yep. One is if you hold down the pitch button, one is if you tap it, and one is if you double tap it.
Chip #5, had to put together a 4th qtr drive to win it. This guy was the dink and dunk king. He got opening kickoff, I got ball back with 1:40 left in half lol. He wasn't even in chew clock. He converted 3 4th downs in that drive. I got 3 possessions all game.
Just experienced my first true fucking over by the game. Opponent scores and goes for 2 with :30 left to take lead, doesn't get it. I recover onside and get him to burn his TOs. :15 seconds left, I punt, the game glitches and only does a 1/4 full power punt. Ball bounces OVER the returner, another guy picks it up, returns it 75 yards for a walk off TD. Hadn't thrown a controller in about a decade until now
I was too blinded with rage to have the situational awareness to memorialize it on video, unfortunately
When playing CPU games in dynasty do you guys still control a LB/DB on defense? Im not really good at that as is but feels like against CPU especially they just find every little opening in the zone to the point playing DL seems like the lowest risk option (until it switches me to the wrong guy anyways). I realize my biggest issue against CPU especially is I never force many quick turnovers so even when I get stops they run a ton of time off the clock.
Also they HAVE to fix fumble recoveries next year. Just had a fumble on a backwards pass, my RB was all alone and ran over it (wasn’t holding sprint)…then had 2 CPU OL come over and run past it. Defender scoops and scores.
nope, I use my DEs. I've never used anything but DEs, even vs a human opponent I'll switch once the play develops so I can get user INTs or make a tackle with an LB. but pre snap I select a DE and my goal is a sack/tfl until I have no choice but to switch
I see people play as a LB or safety and get a ton of INTs or “user lurks” and I want to dedicate time to practicing it. But it just seems like against the CPU it’s a lot harder to “bait” them into a throw because it’s AI not a human. Then my other issue is the game switching to the completely wrong guy 90% of the time. So if I’m a DL and am getting blocked but another DL is running free I’ll want to use him to avoid him messing the play up…but it will switch me to like a CB and I press down and leave a WR wide open. I guess same thing happens when I’m controlling a back 7. Once the pass is thrown and switch stick doesn’t work, it just seems so random who I switch too. So many times it switches to a guy I don’t want and I take him out of the play. Seems like DL is the least risky spot to play if I remember not to switch players, but also is the least common position to use, especially online.
Im thinking this is what I need to do, still can come down and stop the run, but at least if I bite on a fake I’ll have time to get back over the top. Or when I run C3 or C4 use a safety to roam around the middle.
After 10 championships in 14 seasons at Notre Dame I have decided to take my talents to Toledo, Ohio in the year 2050. I have taken a 76 overall HB and turned him into a monster. His latest effort against Ohio… .
I do the exact opposite. I'll literally switch off of a guy who's about to make an open field tackle because I completely whiff 95% of the time.
do you tackle with the right stick? that is the only way I tackle. flick it down to cut their legs or flip it up to go for the big hit and potential forced fumble
This is how I do it too. Sometimes I get greedy and try a hit stick but it’s like 40/60 that I’ll whiff and maybe have forced 5 fumbles ever using it.
I love using the hit stick on QBs on sacks. my two DEs each average around 4 FF per year (it's actually 5 by my RE and 3 by my LE) I only track starter stats for the year, but my 11 starters on D combine for roughly 12 forced fumbles per year and I'd chalk most of that up to using hit stick
I’ll have to try it more when it comes to sacks. Probably less likely to completely whiff those I’d hope.
What view do you guys use? I usually just use the standard view (I think), but sometimes zoom out to the “All 22”. I like that so I can see sideline to sideline but once the play starts it’s too weird of an angle.
Looking at Reddit and it seems like the player switch thing is just EA being EA, handful of people complaining. Where I notice it a ton is if a QB scrambles, the could be a couple guys within 5-7 yards but instead it switches me to the deepest DB while the QB runs past the closer guys who just stand there because they’re in a “zone” until he crosses the LOS.
Click R3 in that situation and the DBs and LBs in coverage will abandon their assignment and go after the QB.
How is this road to the CFB playoff game mode fun? Tried it for the second time and just had 3 straight opponents concede in the first half
Move up the ranks and you don't get that bc its sweaty games. Get to All-American or Heisman and it's tough game after tough game.
Just lost to UVA lol. Dude ran chew clock the entire game. He got 3 possessions, I got 2. He won 13-10. I dropped 3 INT and he went 4 for 4 on 4th down, one of those being his TD. He just dinked and dunked for 3-4 yards all game long and ate clock. He got opening kick, I got ball with 40 seconds left in half. Had to settle for a FG bc of the clock. Scored when I got ball in 2h and never saw it again lol. They really need to move to 5 minute quarters bc that's lame as shit to do off rip and all game.
I wish they’d make road to cfp at least 4 minute quarters and give you the option to choose a playbook
Every one of dbl’s posts in this thread make me not want to ever play a human opponent in this game It’s pure cheese and then doing stupid shit to have to combat it. I don’t understand how anyone finds that enjoyable
Assuming you don't have to play Bama, Georgia, or Ohio St every game (like you're most likely to do), playing small school vs small school is pretty fun
Haven't played since the first two months after launch...is there anything fundamentally different/improved about the dynasty experience?
Just lost a game by 3 in my non-TMB online dynasty. Post game I check my depth chart and because I messed with some RS (and forgot) my 91 OT was benched for some 60 overall clown. Didn’t even think to check until post game, just figured his DL was stacked. Shit like this that hasn’t been fixed yet makes me not even want to buy the next game out of principle.
at was my first thought but it's pretty easy to break this game if you play long enough. Press coverage is basically an automatic td, just had a true freshmen, 78 overall qb throw 72 tds. Play a dynasty with family members on heismen and we're approaching tecmo bowl level stat padding. Probably would have gave up already if I was playing a solo dynasty
Sliders and house rules, but yes. Stream your games on twitch even against the cpu so you can watch VODs and limit the bullshit
I couldn’t even get my RB to stay in the game long enough to get to those kinds of numbers. Do you have wear and tear turned off or something?
I don't believe so. I am not the moderator of my shared dynasty, but my guy does get worn down. I can't run him like 4 rushes in a row without him being subbed out.
I don't play as much as I initially did, but I find that even against press I can't get anyone open deep on All Pro mode. Maybe I just need to get some 99 speed WR out there instead of my current guys who are 92-93, but yeah, no matter how many streaks I run against press coverage, it seems like they rarely get open.
