Exact same game as last year’s version they just did the old madden move of changing the UI color scheme
I loved The Show so I bought this years and realized it’s the exact same game. I don’t know what I was expecting…but yeah. only difference is the #Atlanta Braves are WORLD CHAMPIONS!
Not true. Sometimes they take out features that people like so they can put them back in a couple years later and call it new. Sometimes they also put in features no one likes so they can take them out a couple years later and call it listening to fans.
Did you guys really think they were going to build a brand new engine for this game when zero competition exists?
Best case scenario is they sell a billion copies and another game studio decides to get involved and make a competing cfb game
I wouldn't expect them to dedicate an entire engine to it even if competition DID exist. I'm sure they are very invested into Frostbite.
For the record, EA's NCAA game always used to run off a modified version of the previous year's Madden engine. NCAA 12 ran off the Madden 11 engine. Madden 12, which came out a few months later, was supposed to be the "new" game that NCAA 13 ran off of, etc.
This. It was always a modified version of the Madden engine. Not sure why people are melting down over this.
I think its not about the fact that its the same engine. Its more because people don't like the Madden one to begin with. That wasn't the case back then.
right, but the expectation should always have been that they were going to port over the madden engine. I was absolutely under the impression that the Madden engine was coming back.
Sounds like me hoping the Marlins will actually have competent management. It sounds cool, but the hope is foolish.
I don’t like it, but they are going to make the same amount of sales new engine or not. What we need is for 2k to get back into football with real rosters so it breeds competition. However, that’s not happening
It didn’t at one time. If you don’t have a product to compete against(like Madden, NCAA) then EA has no reason to invest in a new engine.
do people not keep up with 2k? Aren't they perceived as worse than EA when it comes to micro transactions in NBA? I don't play it but I feel like that's the stuff I see come across gaming media I follow.
Then any gaming company, not 2k. It’s not happening, but EA has no motivation to spend money on a new engine until someone makes an equal or better product in the genre. No one is cutting into their sales at this time.
I don’t play madden anymore but what is so bad with their engine? It may be bad but let’s not forget that NCAA was always worse. It’s like they took the madden engine every year and said let’s make it do even dumber things or act even more outrageous. Just the other day I threw 14 back into the ole 360 and had to turn it off after a few games of Linebackers play like Jalen Ramsey and lineman blocking like a 1st grade flag football team.
EA actually TRIED to make a quality product during that stretch. Was watching a video on EA’s MVP Baseball ‘05, and nostalgia-ed hard. That game had great gameplay, solid season features, fun and original mini-games, and a great soundtrack. I wish they’d just use the same concepts from this game to ‘recreate’ a new one. Here’s the video I watched. Check out the mini-games at around the 2:30 mark.
I go back and forth. The content is A+++. And gameplay was solid early. Now that we have 125 power guys, everything is a HR. Just played a game, 15 combined hits and 12 were HR. And the fluke stuff is beyond frustrating. Perfect perfect go for outs and early no pci go for HR.
All subjective I guess. The content makes it a good game for me. It's not perfect, but I've played it a ton.
As a hardcore FIFA player, it’s been refreshing and shocking to see how good The Show is and it made me stop playing FIFA much earlier in the cycle than normal
