All of my posts are from an online view so we may differ. Playing on 3 minute quarters and a super offense heavy game, a lot of games came down to flukes or simple clock management aka chew clock. I'd really like a more balanced game where getting a stop that's not a turnover is more possible. The fact that people go on every 4th and 12 points to it being unbalanced.
Yea it's frustrating. I get the intent but they need to shorten the playclock or something bc 6 plays shouldn't kill a quarter. If I'm in a comp game and get the ball back with 1:30 in the 3rd, I can easily kill the rest of the game if I don't do something dumb and turn it over.
I’ve used this since release but still think I’m missing something. I swear it seems like all my passes are either line drives or 500 feet in there air. Could be my QBs aren’t very good stats wise but just seems like I’ve rarely been able to drop one where it needs to go to beat a zone.
and as mentioned, player ratings play a big factor in this pass style. so if you have lower rated guys, you're gonna see more variance on accuracy than on some of the other settings
I assume you just mean with the left stick? That’s what I do, but wouldn’t shock me if I’ve been doing it wrong haha
yes, left stick to lead also try changing the reticle speed if you are having either all lobs or just bullets. that setting could lead to a better middle ground for you
Thinking this was part of the issue. In my non-TMB OD I’ve had a terrible time finding a QB and have been stuck with ATHs with a ton of THP but no accuracy. Have played a couple online games after work today and Drew Allar feels like Mahomes right now.
some notes for any tldw folks: he got ball state to 99s across the board by year 5 strictly through manual player progression (he turned the penalty down to zero) - had dudes with 80+ skill points to use after one year and 130+ after multiple years. you can still choose to do auto upgrades with manual turned on, so if you just want to focus on certain ratings/players and then auto upgrade the rest you can portal is definitely gonna be a thing assuming the actual game is like the builds - he set it at 20 players on the sliders. he didnt go over it a ton, but saw guys like sellers, seaton, stewart, underwood, deuce knight, and darian mensah all on different teams in various menus/awards he went through coaching carousel still only with 4 options, but actual hc offers early on. also just way easier to track with additional menu info and actual coaches. also had a coordinator offer turn him down sim stats seem better and you can view career stats for any player avoid raw strength prototype on ol - manual upgrades are very expensive even at lower ability levels increased optionality this year with coach build and league setting sliders should provide a better experience
Absolute dickhole. One snap and it's over and I can see the celebration, see stats, and highlights. Not sure I threw the ball once all game. His run defense was atrocious. 280 yards rushing. Chip 11, probably last one.
Copied this from a Reddit post (couldn’t get the link to copy), but this makes me feel a little better about it. Havent been able to watch his video yet. You shouldn't be able to turn Ball State into a 99 overall in 4-5 seasons but he did it. However, there's a few reasons this happened and manual progression is not as crazy as this seems. 1.) He set the manual XP progression penalty % to 0%. Default is 25% and can go up to 100%. Easy fix. 2.) He chose fastest coach progression to get better upgrades to progress players easier. 3.) He only used points on ratings. ZERO abilities. If he had went 50/50 his overall wouldn't be anywhere close. 4.) He cut his team down from 85 to 59 players at the very end. Before he did that it was a 92 overall. So he really had a 92 overall full team, with the fastest coaching progression, fastest manual XP progression, and didn't upgrade a single ability on any player. The good news is that all 4 of these things can be fixed very easily. It might take a bit to do some testing and get a good slider set for this stuff, but someone will come up with one that works!
do you play other users? That’s all online is. Your receiver has 2 stops on the DB, throw a lob and the user presses B and Y and the DB makes a leaping no look over the shoulder pick.
I'm still overly invested in the defensive playbooks. From the beta, were there any new defensive formations or plays that were noteworthy? (Beyond the DL stunts) Just curious if they added a true 2-4-5 that's so prevalent now or more sim pressures
https://collegefootball.gg/playbooks/ supposedly this is updated for this version. the Nickel package has a 2-4 front
The dudes that cheese levels sail in online play should be publicly executed or hopefully had their bullshit nerfed thanks to the adjustments
Just got smoked by Kentucky lol. He was incredible on defense and on offense he just spammed takeoff with their 98 speed WR with platinum takeoff. They really have to nerf takeoff. A 98 speed CB that's not pressed and shaded over the top should never ever just get ran by 5 yards for an easy TD and it happens like 1 out of every 5 plays on here. His defense was incredible, probably would have won without it, but damn takeoff is so frustrating. Easiest read in the game too. If he gets that super speed boost off the line, its an auto 6.
https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...ning-dynasty-in-the-world-new-signups.112978/ Reminder for anyone looking for play in a dynasty this season. Likely capping at 12-14 teams but I think only 7-8 spots are spoken for at the moment. Dynasty won’t start until the end of July.
Feels like half of defense is going to be setting guys pre snap at the right depth. Like running a cover 2 CB but stemming it up to 20 yards to guard the corner route.
Quick glance looks like hes writing down formations he likes in each playbook. Top guys will run a few formations but multiple plays and a billion hot routes out of each play. Its not the same play over and over bc other top guys can stop that easily.
He carried a 62 overall team to 10-2 and then became ineligible and dropped to QB4 bc he didnt study. He had to sit out the conference title game and they lost.
Saw that in his video. And yea this year it seems like you can out anyone anywhere on O and D. Obviously more advantageous for the O. RPO and being able to make your own custom route trees is a problem. So many options for the O.
some portal footage (1:27:00 if timestamp isnt working for you) wont spoil what he does, but its funny
Yea all of this portal stuff makes it 10x more roster management than playing the game. I get its realistic but its a lot.
I think I’m gonna do 20 per year. It’s gonna suck but it’s realistic I guess. If it gets to be a headache I’m gonna turn it down. Proximity to home recruits seems like the guys to target
