I saw something about how position changes are different where it’s not as easy to just move a guy and he’s instantly like a 95+. Made it sound like ratings start over or something. Did you see that? Unfortunately I wasn’t able to play nearly as much as I was hoping for.
I only have a handful of guys on the roster over 90 perido But yes, it seems like it's harder to take advantage of the system and archetypes
90+ speed linebackers were plentiful in 25....among the randomly generated recruits in dynasty. all of the players in the beta were randomly generated. if you do not play deep into dynasties you will not have to deal with such. if you do, you will. don't overcomplicate it.
I feel like they did fix this quite a bit. here's the big programs and record in 2025 from my season and here is the CFP field and results
It seemed like they eventually fixed it this year after a month or so it stopped being so chaotic where every team was like 6-4/ranked. Wonder if the fake rosters on the beta messed it up. I think the issue with CFB25 was at first even the bad teams were like 73 overalls.
Feels like they’re just fixing shit that was broken with the first game. I guess that’s good but a lot of this stuff is very underwhelming. Will absolutely still pre order and play it way too much.
If you’re expecting wholesale changes in a game that releases annually you’re going to be disappointed a lot. It’s no longer 2005 where technology is changing as rapidly
I think it's fair to expect a big jump from year 1 to year 2 of an annual franchise with a lot of issues
Even then you were only seeing changes every other year. I think it was the even years where the big changes happened. But I gotta hand to EA, the amount of added content throughout the year has been really surprising to see. Even adding new plays after the season on offense has been cool
I think he was referring to gameplay. The biggest jump is going to be in bugs and upgrades to game logic.
PSU had a wildcat formation in the beta where the QB was like 10 yards off the lines between the middle of the sideline. I thought the RB would be able to take the snap and toss it back to him but I couldn't figure it out. He was just out there and a wasted player. May have been a user error.
Just checked bc I didnt think it worked on 25 either and it doesnt. Maybe roster update made the changes you wanted but I jsut made my normal changes to Bama in the depth chart and then went into a game and they weren't there. I had to manual do them again.
On 26? No. The beta rosters were approved wonky in online and dynasty though so can't take much from it.
Ehh some of it, but not all. Some of the game logic is stuff games have struggled with forever so I assume its not simple stuff.
Recruiting basically being the same is enough for me to pass on. Pulling in 10+ 5 stars a year is ridiculous. Recruiting being ridiculously easy has always been an issue with these games.
Obviously I'm not a developer but it seems like gamers (not anyone specifically here) say "oh that's an easy fix!" for things that games have struggled with forever. I dont think those things are easy or they'd have done it a long time ago. I get having high expectations but expecting perfection from video games is a bit silly imo. Some people (again not anyone specifically here) just like to complain. 25 was a really good game imo.
Start with a 1* school on Heisman or limit yourself to certain states to recruit. You can make it hard if you want to.
I’m talking about stuff like ATH not being a drop down in position changes. Easily fixable things that should’ve been in a patch last year.
When we're getting picky to little details like that, I feel like the game was really good. Like I said, games aren't going to be perfect. And I have no idea if a change like that is an easy fix in a patch. Rosters and ratings and gameplay stuff, yes, but menus and stuff idk.
not saying it's a direct way to compare, but looking at my classes from my last 2 deep dynasties, I signed 34 kids that entered as a 80 or higher as freshman with the highest being a 5 star run stopper linebacker at 84 overall also signed a 5 star elite man to man DB that was an 82, an 82 Field General 5 star elite MLB, and a 5 star elite agile OL only 3 of the 34 were QBs (2 with elite trait, all were scramblers) and all 3 were 5 star gems
Things I wish were in recruiting. Actual busts, there needs to be 5 stars coming in at 60-70 overall. Overall player size is way too big for college. Every HS recruit is NFL ready as an 18 year old. Would be cool to implement the actual facility ratings and use this to base weight/strength gains over someone's career. You could recruit OTs that are 6'6 240lbs and need to actually redshirt in order to play. White skill guys. I mean what are we doing, thought I read somewhere that white guys named Ladarius are not as common now Include sophomores/juniors in HS, be able to scout somewhat and phone call or send mail to track, keep relationships across schools if you were to leave similar to CH2k8. That's a start.
Misworded, 3 of the 34 guys I brought in that were 80+ were QBs. The vast majority of freshman were DBs, OL, and DL Most 5 star QBs come in at 78 or 79
I really don't understand why it's not working for y'all. I have Peny Boone set as my FB on the roster, with Richardson as the backup HB, and Jacurri Brown as the starting QB. None of those were on the default roster. I played three games as UCF today in Road to CFP and the depth chart was as I described above.
They updated the rosters at some point. I'll check mine and see if they have those guys starting for UCF.
Updated default rosters: QB: Brown, Rizk, Colson RB: Harvey, Richardson, Boone, Ingram FB: Empty, but Boone is the top option so it'll put him there I've never used UCF, that's just the updated rosters.
My god, I think the highest rated freshman I ever had was 78 ha I played mostly in online dynasty so didn’t get through nearly as many seasons as you did but knowing those types of players are out there explains why trying to compete as Iowa State has been a debacle
Tactician archetype I would load up on the recruiting skill tree (so I could devote 75 or 80 hrs to a recruit) and Tactician for boosts to my players skills in season. My roster was typically 95 to 97 overall and I signed 16 to 18 five stars per cycle
have you tested the viability of not putting points in recruiting? (obv would still put points in scouting, probably) but mostly some combo of tactician, (master) motivator, t3/4 talent developer, and architect to focus on progressing whatever 3/4 stars you get rather than signing 20 5 stars? i have seen that t2/4 architect has a pretty low proc rate and that seems like it might put a lower than desired cap on such a coach build....but i'm not sure.
I honestly didn't deviate on my head coach across 6 different dynasties given the success I had recruiting and how much better my roster consistently was compared to the other elite programs I probably should have. But when your roster is roughly 80% 5 stars and the vast majority of those 5s are elite or star trait, it's just not a huge concern lol
