Yes because I want to buy a game and only play part of it because I'm not willing to pay extra in order to get a leg up on the rest of the players. Gone are the days when you pick your team I pick mine and if I'm just flat out better than you because I've mastered my team I will usually win. That is just stupid, these days you can pay to unlock, characters, stats, and all the weapons just because rather than just unlocking through the game.
That's still available. It's called Play Now. You pick the Nets, I pick the Clippers. We play. It's very easy and doesn't cost a dime to do.
It's the same thing. Companies make different levels of products. Some cost more than others. Buying one doesn't give you access to the other. idk why you think video games should be different.
You just don't get it why should someone have to pay to play a game they already bought. The shit is on the disc or your download already they make hundreds of millions of dollars off microtransactions on stats boosts, card packs, and cosmetics alone they don't have to charge for p2p but they do because morons like you will buy it every year.
They don't have to pay to play the game they bought. They can play the cpu. They can play online in Play Now using NBA teams and playing against another human. Stop crying bc you don't want to pay for something that millions of others are.
Jesus. So companies can charge $60 for the game and you are fine with them charging another $50 to unlock various game modes? You don’t see why that would piss people off?
I don't mind paying for things I like. I don't whine and say I should be allowed access for free. I don't buy an endzone ticket to a game and then whine that I can't get into the club level bar.
Yes, they can charge whatever they want. IT'S A VIDEO GAME. This isn't medicine. It's not healthcare. It's a luxury item. You don't want to pay for the additional features? Cool. Don't. Play the basic version that cost $60.
They paid for the offline version of the game. My endzone ticket wasn't free. Why shouldn't I get into the club level? I PAID FOR A TICKET!
the better car related analogy would be if you bought a car for $30k that couldnt go faster than 50 and toyota told you that if you wanted a car that would go 70, you would need to pay them an extra $5k
Buying a manual car that only has P,R, N, 1,2,3 yeah you can drive the car but if you want acess to the whole car you bought ncluding the 4th gear you have to pay us more money.
It would be different if 2k were marketing the game the way dbl is laying things out but they aren't for obvious reasons
half ass a new game next year with 1 or 2 new mechanics plus a million new microtransactions where everything you bought from this years version is obsolete.
if you aren't coming down on the opposite side of every big corporation on every issue you are a capitalist scum bootlicker convince me I'm wrong
They almost exclusively market My Career. Park/rec people were bitching bc 2 days prior to launch there had been no info released about the park/rec (the modes that you start as 60 and buy to 85), It was all about the new story mode blah blah blah.
Right I'm saying if 2k made it clear that the $60 is just buying everything else and you'll have to pay more to reasonably expect to participate in the online mycareer stuff. They don't do that.
When it's non-essential goods, I tend to think business can charge whatever they want. I don't have to buy it. If I feel they are too expensive, I'll find another option. I don't feel like they should make it affordable for me if they have others willing to pay more. I guess that makes me scum.
Let's be clear, you don't HAVE to pay the $50. You can play my career games vs the cpu and go from 60-85 in probably 2-3 weeks. The lower levels like 60 to 61 takes 1-2 games to move up. They take longer as you move up. But going from 60 to 85 doesn't take 6 months or anything. It's not an impossible task.
Dbl took losing to Powe so badly that he now pays to be better at video games (not to mention paying real money so his players can wear fake shoes/clothes). Sad.
I'll play the cpu. I'll use Play Now. I don't HAVE to play My Career. And it's a god damn video game. It's not a life essential. It's a luxury item. They can charge whatever they want.
The VC part isn't an issue. You always have enough to buy the next upgrade as long as you didn't spent it on dumb shit.
You know so little about this discussion but you had to go for a burn and made yourself just look ignorant.
I would assume that is posturing in order to demand more money than the other conferences. I highly doubt it's a 'hard no' - rather just negotiating.
Hey I started on Atari so I'm there with you. What's considered basic now is still way more than the full game used to be.
What the hell are you bitches arguing about? Paying more money for dynasty mode? Is that whats going to happen?
I'm all for paying for additional content/cosmetics. But when you offer a competitive advantage that can be acquired through paying that's when it's off the rails.
Sure you can not play it all, but the pay for play pieces of the game are literally the only ones they work on and attempt to improve each year because people are shelling out ridiculous amounts of cash to skip their purposeful grind. It also really shits on people that don’t have the time to grind to be competitive or people that can’t afford to blow $50 for each position build they want to make.
Na, probably not. I'm sure you'll be able to do new jersey/socks/helmets etc though. And they'll have some kind of My Team game mode where you can buy packs and get Herschel at RB, Elway at QB, and Tim Brown at WR and then play against other people with their own teams.
Soooooooooo everyone starts with the same guy and you can't make them better in any way? That sounds terrible. Building my guy is half the fun of it.
