I just got my plat and celebrated by obliterating Tree Sentinel on about fifteen seconds. Felt really good. I respeced into a pure strength character so it’ll be a ride getting used to a new way of playing.
I actually used Black Knife Tiche as my Summons for that fight. Same thing though, didn’t find much use for casting. I found it easiest to get in close and get lots of shots in.
question for FS vets: since the majority of the Rad/Eld fight is dealing with holy damage, should I equip whatever armor I have that has the highest holy damage negation numbers and ignore the other numbers? I know Rad's hammer has to account for some kind of physical damage but the Beast doesn't seem to do any actual physical damage at all
Ive never even considered damage reduction when wearing armor so I’m not the best authority on it. I only wore heavier armor for poise or I wore whatever looked the best because I can avoid taking hits. I would say the more damage reduction from Holy the better if you are struggling with taking hits.
I can beat Rad with only getting hit 1-2 times total and that's with wearing the Lynel tank armor (I beat Rykar before doing the assassinations quests so apparently I fucked myself out of getting the Ram armor and Haslow's stuff.... someone please correct me if I'm wrong and tell me how to get those two "contracts" to pop up). So I think I could beat Rad just fine wearing whatever armor. But the Lynel Armor is probably a factor in me not being able to close distance to get in and hit the Beast since I run a 10 second 40 yard dash in that stuff.
on quick glance i thought that said Patches and was him. watched this a while back and another one. he does enjoyable content.
Yeah shard spiral was what got me passed him. I summoned a mimic and we both spammed that shit to victory.
I learned of the spiral shard way too late. didn't even remember Sellen at all as I think the only thing I did in her quest prior to seeking out that spell was delivering the note from Sevuris.
Has everyone else here beaten elden ring? I’m like 90 hours in and level 80 or so. In deep root depths now. Those two gargoyles were a pain in the ass
The fight against Fia’s champions and then the lichdragon were both pretty cool. Liked seeing other people’s builds
Keep that mentality when you face the 3 summons fights at great Alexander’s jar in the north/middle tip of Caelid. I beat the game at around 130 hours but I didn’t beat Milenia or Placidoux dragonlord. And accidentally beat volcano manor before doing the assassinations quests or abductor virgins section below the manor. As far as I know I did every dungeon in the game outside of maybe ~12 caves/catacombs that had shit rewards from the bosses
most difficult fights for me were the ones with the blue crystal bosses. those body shields are tanky af and trying to beat them without any ashes made the fights like 10 minutes long
i would avoid fighting those like the plague and every time i finally did i'd remember why i avoided it -- extremely hard with a pathetic reward like beast flesh or whatever, something stupid.
This may be a dumb question but how does multiplayer work in this game? I’ve put down my gold summon sign and also tried to do the summoning pool thing and it’s never worked
I was connected. Started working right after I posted this so maybe I just needed to bitch about it real quick
Just beat the fire giant on my first attempt. He killed me during his death animation and I thought I was going to miss out on all of the runes but thankfully I got them first. I did use tiche and alexander though. I’m not good enough to just solo the bosses.
So malenia is pretty tough. Got worked quite a few times before turning it off for the hockey game tonight
Finally starting this tonight - I can't fucking wait. I've got an embarrassing amount of hours invested into Soulsborne games and this is the first I haven't had time to play on release since DS1. Looking forward to that Miyazaki magic and subsequent playthroughs with whatever the equivalent of ladle/broken straight sword is in this game.
Beat Rykard and Fire Giant last night. gonna work myself up to 150 and either beat the game or give up on gaming.
Placidusax was giving me a bit of a tough time probably bc I was being overly aggressive but I switched weapons and used the envoy’s long horn and just straight melted him. What an absurd weapon for a large boss
Game's sick. In Leyndell now, overall kind of prefer some of the other titles with more "level" like structure, but open world Dark Souls hasn't disappointed. Lots of throwbacks to the old titles (the amalgamation of the combat systems from previous games is nice) and some really good fights.
Finally beat the game a couple weeks ago. Really enjoyed it. Think I finished at lvl 175 and prob around that many hours too. Feel like the game was just a little too long. Probably could have cut out crumbling farum azula
my new tv should be here just in time. guess I’ll fire elden ring back up and check it out. any idea what the DLC will be?
Elden Ring having a dedicated controller button for jump vs. Some Frankenstein bullshit combo just to execute a jump like dark souls games was a QoL change that made the game infinitely more enjoyable.
