I put red brake caliper covers on our Tesla Y Friday afternoon. Sorry for the crappy angle. I think it makes it look a lot better. No plans on changing anything else.
Article we may want to add to the first page on all the tax credits and who/what qualifies. They said they'll keep updating it. https://electrek.co/2021/10/19/which-electric-vehicles-still-qualify-for-us-federal-tax-credit/
Hertz Rental just committed to buy 100k Tesla 3's https://www.local10.com/news/nation...-100000-model-3-electric-vehicles-from-tesla/
Can someone explain to me why this is good news for the company? waifing for the news on how much hertz will actually pay for these also, I’ll put the over/under at 18 months for hertz either filing a lawsuit against Tesla or pulling out of the deal before 100,000 cars are delivered
Glad to see you've found this thread. It's been a while since you've been able to vent your Tesla/Elon anger
I stopped trading the stock like 2 years ago when it became totally disconnected from reality just wild that selling 100,000 cars at a bulk discount is construed as good news
Elon about to make like 30b today by selling 100,000 cars to rental company that was bankrupt 3 months ago this is all going to go well
I was posting it because this is a huge step for EV's. This is going to help build out infrastructure, but mostly it will give great exposure to people because many American's never own/lease a new vehicle.
Now with this order there will be many more big beautiful tents. So many tents the likes of which have never been seen before…
Tesla about to hit a trillion in market cap and still loses money on every car they make What a time to be alive
It's not bad having a car that looks somewhat normal, tbqh. I like it and the inside is pretty sick. But these are 100k right?
12.500 would be great. It also would be great if I could get an F150 next year. I think only 1/2 of those things will happen.
Deposit down on a Rivian R1S. Time to impatiently wait for production to start in January and see how far back in line we are.
$169k for one of the 520 Dream editions being built this year Low $100s for a Grand Touring $69k for a Pure, which will be metal roof and one drive unit (600hp) instead of two
There’s a Mach-E first edition grabber blue (twin to mine) with 4,400 miles on it for sale at the Toyota dealer here for over $55k, or $3,500 over new msrp when you factor in the lack of tax credit. Wild.
someone in my building bought an audi e-tron rs gt and it's the first car in a while that i've seen in person that looks like it's from the future. i just looked on the site and it has a base price of $140k lol. it looks super cool and I'm not a big car person at all.
Well seems like the Rivian IPO went well. Just doubled in a week and they are the third most valuable car manufacturer and have kinky delivered 100, all to employees.
I bet on Ford because someone on here made a compelling argument about fleet vehicles and it’s also probably not going to 0
My MIL was completely baffled when I told her I put a reservation in for the Lightning. “Why would you want an electric truck?” Cuz electric cars are cool and I’m a pavement princess.
And if I lose power I can run my house for a few days off it....when I tell people that one it always blows there mind.
I think it's this thread that we've talked about Tesla's and expected/estimated range. Took my 2018 Model 3 up to Asheville this past weekend from Raleigh, NC and was super impressed with the estimated range calculations. On our drive up it was about 5 hours and had a ton of the drive in the 75 mph - 80mph range. Went up in elevation almost 1700 feet for the drive as well. I ended up getting there actually 2% above what was the estimated arrival battery. The entire trip, no matter the driving conditions it nailed within a couple percent of the estimate. Had one drive where I went up the Blue Ridge Parkway to about 4,500 feet that was 1 hour up, and about 1 hour down. That drive was super interesting as it took me about 35% battery to get up there and I gained 3% on the way back down lol. The estimator got that one right too though which I thought was super impressive.
So you had to stop for ~45min to refuel on the way? Did it spit out a few stop options and you just picked the best one?
Nothing nearly that bad. I stopped at a Super Charger for like 10-15 minutes and that was plenty to get there. There were several Super Charger options on the drive and the route planner will pick one out for you and it does a good job of that.
When you charge the battery on a car (like other batteries) it charges really quick from 20-80% and then it slows down a lot. So most people just charge the car to 80% which takes about 10-15 mins. It is more efficent than waiting 30 mins to get the extra 20%. It's also an excuse to take a break and move around every couple hours.
