Essential workers won the 2020 online poll but Time gave the actual honor to Biden and Harris. Cause, you know, they did “the most to influence events of the year.”
they shoulda named trump the person of the year for developing the vaccine. would probably help vaccination rates.
I've never seen a thread so meticulously and vigorously answer a question posed by a poster. Elon sucks Jake Barnes I hoped you learned something today
So you think they were more important than healthcare workers? I doubt it but you just are a hypocrite so not surprised.
i think every healthcare worker got tired of meaningless things like this a year and a half ago and just want people to stop being insane and clogging up the hospitals
no we just think your "these things are equal" retort comparing naming the incoming president person of the year to naming an unhinged, genocidal pos person of the year was incredibly lazy. and not at all surprising from you
Also just very on brand for an unhinged conservative to be, "but Democrats" at any opportunity regardless of context
hitler being named person of the year was pretty sus but no surprise coming from the same organization that named obama person of the year as well
I am anything but unhinged. I was referring to last year them being named with zero backlash on here despite it being just as ridiculous as Musk. Unhinged. Obviously since I’m all over every (obviously not) political thread on here.
counterpoint....mike pence may have gotten h*ng at the capitol if not for him so who is to say if he is good
what if I think Musk is a fine choice even if hes a piece of shit (this doesn't take that into account!) and that Biden and Kamala was an obvious choice as well
Why do you think Biden/Harris did the most to influence events of the year and why was it so obvious?
because every us president has gotten it over the last 60 years? largely as they are elected? also despite my best efforts the US president is probably the most powerful person in the world, its a big deal when it changes hands!
Im fine with that opinion. I thought healthcare workers last year were a no brainer and even this year I would put them ahead of Musk. What they have had to endure is above either of them and more critical to our every day life.
if you want to continue hypocrite policing (wrongly) have at it https://www.the-mainboard.com/index...time-magazine-2016-person-of-the-year.166671/
It would be a shame if he had to pay taxes for compensation like the rest of us. Waaah, I got paid in millions of dollars of stocks instead of US dollars don’t tax me bro
I listened to some podcast that explained how people like Musk and Bezos who "take no salary" are able to get loans against their stock at obscenely low interest rates in order to live the Succession lifestyle Something about banks being desperate to do business with people like that and being afraid of being blackballed by that class of people
Yes generally instead of selling stock and having to pay capital gains taxes the rich/wealthy will take out loans against their liquid assets It is not just musk and bezos it is everyone who has more than like $7.5 million who does this.
I’m aware they do that, and it makes sense as long as the market is relatively flat or up… I know they have this figured out but doesnt that ever come to roost if the market comes down?
Elon Musk is worth 300 billion dollars. With a b. Tesla would need to cease to exist for him to worry about losing real money. And even then most people who are that wealthy find very favorable terms in bankruptcy (which won't ever happen).
The difference between normal people and obscenely wealthy people is the use of leverage and how actually owning things doesn't really matter because money isn't real to them.
I think Trump should’ve gotten it last year for trying to end western civ and Biden this year for rescuing it.
Yep, also Tesla could cease to exist tomorrow but Elon’s name and legions of dbags that follow him means he would never have a true money problem. Some investors would stick him at the front of their project and float him a ton of cash with the opportunity to own part of some new company and he would live among the .000001% for the rest of his existence. Some bank would float him a large loan, etc. These people, when they get to a certain point, are so far removed from the real world and it’s what makes it even more ridiculous that they will find any little way they can to not pay a dime of taxes. Elon’s snooty fucking ass about this entire charade makes him a guy that needs a major ass-kicking.
Butthead would like to add one correction Elon Musk's father did not own a diamond mine, merely an emerald mine Uh huh huh huh
In another Safety Recall report, also filed on 21 December, Tesla notes the fault could mean, if the primary latch is inadvertently released, the front trunk "may open without warning and obstruct the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of a crash". Hahaha
