Emmanuel Acho tweeted that it’s one thing for people to use marijuana if they’re running in a straight line, but throwing the javelin would be dangerous and questioned where we draw the line.
When people use their hands that much while they're talking, it makes me feel like they're trying to trick me
Perhaps, but he deleted the tweet seven days later and did a whole lot of hot-taking across multiple media between the day of the tweet and the day of that video. I guess it's admirable that he finally did a little research and filmed himself reading Harry Anslinger's wikipedia page, but I don't think that absolves him of the stupidity of the original take. I do take back saying he was a bitch for deleting the tweet, though.
I've watched speak for yourself a few times and it's not great. Gave it a few times to see if it was an off day. Not for me.
“Black Will Cain” seems a little hot takey Seems like he’s trying to modernize the Bill Cosby/Jason Whitlock territory of the late 90s/early aughts where he makes white people feel good about systemic break Downs that impact POC while simultaneously finger wagging people like Sherman or Richardson.
Don't worry, execs are probably fighting to pay him thousands of dollars to speak to their employees so he can spew a bunch of word salad.
I’m good with the Acho pile on, but let’s leave his co host Marcellus Wiley out of this. He can be over the top, but I like his takes when I do catch the show.
In early summer 2020, Acho began a series of YouTube interviews entitled, "Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man",[20] hoping to address issues of race in America. A book of the same name was released on November 10, 2020, which sold 18,000 copies in its first day.[21] On February 27, 2021, Acho announced that he would host the 25th season of The Bachelor's "After the Final Rose" Special, replacing Chris Harrison.[22]He has been invited twice to compete on The Bachelorette, and is friends with Rachel Lindsay, who encouraged him to do "Uncomfortable Conversations".[23]
well he is talking about fans but this take could be accurate when directed towards the players . whether intentional or not fellow nba players didn’t seem to root for Giannis and I think a lot of it is he didn’t grow up around them in aau circles . unintentional xenophobia
Giannis can’t be a star because we don’t know about his upbringing and he’ll always be dodging questions from Nigerian guys at weddings
Some of his motivational shit is fucking weird. Also, he did a terrible job navigating the conversation on race and dating on The Bachelor.
Hate to go against a whole TMB thread, but I see where bud could give you an advantage when running. I prefer it myself; helps me get in the zone. Something about the mind/body connection is enhanced. Also may increase pain tolerance slightly
That was already acknowledged. The issue is that she wasn't high during the race, which made his point moronic and worth laughing at. Your post misses the point just like his tweet
Good luck legislating those advantages vs totally legally substances like Tylenol and any number of nootropics
so the word he is looking for is xenophobia? Instead of going through all that why not just say he thinks American sport fans and media are too xenophobic to fully embrace him.
