I don't have kids so I don't have a way to do this without looking like a weird pedophile, but I want to name a kids soccer team "Queens Park Raisins" so bad. They would be so adorable in their blue and white hooped Air Asia jerseys. Of course 'Arry would be their coach and they would undoubtedly be the worst team in the league.
Bournemouth wasting no time in shoring up the GK position for 15-16. @afcbournemouth: BREAKING: #afcb sign @pzpn_pl goalkeeper @ArturBoruc ahead of first @premierleague season: http://t.co/wE2i7YffcV http://t.co/AYmlEnucf0
Apparently Watford's manager resigned over a contract dispute. Also, why are they the Hornets yet have a deer in their crest? TIA
Between that and their dodgy Italian owners, I think they're going to have a short, tumultuous stint in the PL.
The talk today has been Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Slavisa Jokanovic(Watford). Obviously McClaren is heavy odds, but there's some talk that him turning down the opportunity twice already pissed of Ashley/the Board.
What's up with these post season tours, they normal? Seems pretty nuts when there's not much of an offseason in the first place, guess money talks though. Like wouldn't Joe Hart and Kompany rather be laying on a beach than playing a friendly against the Houston Dynamo
Say what you want about our alien captain but plenty of times this year Hart was really good to makeup for awful defending
European players with no World Cup or euro championship have the whole summer off so the team will bleed as much money as they can.
Ashley is such a cunt jonas gutierrez @elgalgojonas 42m42 minutes ago Two things I learn from my illness how you can support a player (newcastle fans) and how you leAve a player alone (newcastle owner)
really wish we'd have given him a 1 year deal. he was surprisingly good in a central midfield role, no reason he couldn't have stayed as a squad player

"Ryan Taylor was released from NUFC by telephone before being told to pass his mobile to Jonas Gutierrez so he could be delivered same news."
IIRC it's given to teams who have more live games on UK TV. Notice the correlation between the number of games on UK Live and Facility Fee.
Since the start of the Premier League in 1992, seven clubs have never faced the drop: Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester United, Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. However, there are no English clubs currently in existence that have never been relegated from the country’s top division. Arsenal are the team with the longest run since they were last relegated (in 1912-13 from Division One).
Rob HarrisVerified account@RobHarris No Premier League title sponsor from 2016-17 season. #BPL will be no more
£40 mil a season was the latest deal. Turned down £45 mil a season from Guinness recently, but that also had to do with clubs having conflicting beer sponsors.
yeah, 40 mil for that seems really low to be the naming rights sponsor...silly for Barclays to leave that imo.
It's crazy to think about how Chelsea could have gone down on the final day of the season when Roman Abromavich was looking to buy a club. They could very well be a yoyo type club had they not survived.
When was this? What I know about that situation was Roman was looking to buy a CL club and it was Liverpool-Chelsea on the final day for 4th and Chelsea won. So once again, we can blame Liverpool for something bad happening.
That may have been what it was. I remember hearing a story a long time ago that some player scored "The Billion Dollar Goal" I guess I just assumed it was a relegation battle instead of champions league.
What? They finished 4th the season before Abramovich bought them in the summer. They haven't been lower than 6th since 1997 and 14th is their lowest ever in the modern Premier League.
Story on Chelsea was they were going to be stripped of assets if they didn't finish in the CL. They did, on the last day, and Bates sold to Roman very, very shortly after.
Interesting read in regards to the EPL and it's European qualifying places. Link Cliffs: Italy gained points in the coefficient 2010-11 comes off the books which is England's best and Italy's worst point totals Europa teams need to take the comp seriously and Champs league teams need to not suck in the Champs league
The EPL is still worth a billion more than the next richest league, Bundesliga. It's net worth is also more than La Liga and Serie A combined and the poorest EPL team would still be in the top 6 net worth in any league in Europe. There's nothing Europa can provide an EPL team with in that competition. There is the automatic qualifier if you win it, but what are the odds? Probably 99% of the time a deep Europa push means you will not finish in the top 4. I don't think any EPL team will ever take that competition seriously in the near future.
