They were playing at least as well as Arsenal, and somehow managed more possession than them on the road. They didn't do too well in the final third but were certainly not getting bossed around out there. If not for a lucky deflection on the first goal they likely get something from this. Gibbs also could have been sent off.
I didn't say he should have been, Arsenal were just on the right side of all the crucial decisions today. Clatt's clearly didn't get the memo from the league office that says to screw you guys over. Where is Martin Atkinson when you need him?
What a beast, still have no idea how So'ton got him. ChileanNole understands the depth of my Gabbiadini evangelism.
Spurs strategically suicidal with the back line. This is reminiscent of an Arsenal away performance against a top side.
>wonders about mental health of Ace Boogie >turns to game >sees "RELAX HARDER" written across the 2-0 score >
I would have taken a draw at the beginning of the match if offered, always knew this game had the chance to go sideways. Not having Danny Rose to match Mane's pace is killing us, along with some terrible giveaways.
Everything was set up for a dynamic Liverpool attacking performance, all their first choice players in attack are finally available and two of our normal back 4 are out injured. We haven't played well vs. them in a few years so I thought a draw would be the ideal result for us today. We are better at coming back from deficits than most teams but I can't see it happening this afternoon with us missing the few solid chances we've had so far.
The Vertonghen injury is so big because it forced us to go back to a flat back 4. We were playing really well with the 3 man backline, both in an attacking and defending sense. The bright side is this is our last away match vs. a top 6 side for the season.
He's been solid, to be fair. Waiting on a howler from him. Their backline issues were brought upon themselves though. I really cannot wait to play Arsenal.
We are still going to be in 2nd, until Monday at least. Thanks for caring, great result for you today.
