Maybe a bronze spoon. Luxury players who look incredible in highlight videos, make 10-15 WOW plays a year but don't do shit 90% of the time just don't have a place on an elite team in today's version of the sport. I don't think he would start 15 games for any top 6 team.
Gylfi was good as the main guy on a shitty team. he's really good as the big fish in the small pond role. if i'm a top 4 hopeful side I'd rather have Barkley.
Gylfi is pretty shit but with a great final ball Barkley has a couple great months every year then shit all other times Give me Gylfi but Everton are paying a ridiculous price for him
Gylfi is 4 full years older than Barkley (will turn 28 in September, Barkley turns 24 in December). When gylfi was 23 he was doing exactly jack shit for Spurs.
Gylfi is incredible from set pieces but he did at times disappear in open play. Some of that was dreadful coaching for half a season. Some of that was Clement sticking him at LW for a bit. Some of that was the lack of quality around him. But I think some of it may also just be a limitation of his game.
When he gets sold to a team with a good coach. He'd be so much further along if he was at Spurs or Liverpool right now.
Where are the people buying knockoff kits these days. I tried to look on AliExpress and it looks like they cleaned up their act, but maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing.
I am well aware of the man's limitations. I am just aware that trying to get somebody better to come to my team is going to be expensive and a gamble. Also, he counts as homegrown and we were already low on those numbers.
Gylfi Who? I'm all about that Alfie Mawson is a Jack, life now. Roque Mesa is also number 2 in my heart.
you don't just go cold turkey into thursday matches. the epl is doing arsenal a solid trying to ease us into it by giving us a friday fixture imo
Conte really seems to be stirring up shit this preseason, nice to see with Jose making peace with all his enemies last year. It's better when they all hate each other.
we haven't even gotten to the community shield yet and we already have a conte v mourinho war of words, all top managers complaining that they don't have the transfer budget pep has, wenger already frustrated by ozil/Sanchez questions and claiming that having 7 players in last year of contracts is ideal, klopp missing on top 2 targets and clearly unhappy about it, conte v pochettino in regards to tottenhams ambition and a sneaky Everton team that is completely rebuilt. This season is going to be a lot of fun to watch unfold.
Was looking at the fixtures this morning. Somebody has it out for Burnley. They play Spurs on 12/23, then to Old Trafford on 12/26. Four days later on 12/30 they have another game on the road against Huddersfield, followed by a date with Liverpool two days after that. Happy holidays Burnley.
