I think it means no more extra time/overflow channels and all games on mobile for free. If it's on a network it will still be ok on mobile with cable. Won't impact fans of top 6 sides much. Others more so.
Going to boost my hipster cred a ton by being a fan of the best team nobody got to watch this season.
My understanding is that the televised games will still be available to stream via the traditional way (NBC sports app with tv subscription login) but only live, so any archived content will require the plus pass or whatever they're calling this bullshit
Liverpool set the U.K. TV record this season with 29 appearances out of 38 games. Not sure but I think that correlates to US broadcasts. So even the best sides could be on there 10+ times.
So if your team's game isn't televised and you have a cable subscription for NBCSN, you have to drop an additional 50 bucks to watch them online? That's some money grubbing shit.
Guys we finally made it Soccer is a popular enough sport to make a premium subscription service out of a portion of it
Eh this isn't that bad. Fox Soccer Plus was more expensive when they had EPL and still didn't show all the matches. Hell its still more expensive and they don't even have EPL, just Bundesliga and UCL. NBC has been very good to soccer fans
Honestly though I don't know how many matches I streamed last season, very few. There were some hiccups when I did. My hope is by recouping some money they invested buying the rights they'll improve the streaming. If they stop showing extra matches on USA and CNBC because of it they would bother me
Fucking Man City fans talking about how this isn't a big deal because they'll only miss 3 games a year if they don't buy this package. I'll only see 3 games a year if I don't.
I mean there's a decent chance I buy it and don't care. I've paid out more to Rivals in the last 6 months just out of laziness to call and cancel. I give ESPN $40 per year for insider and their magazine that I throw away and never read. It's less to do with what matches will be on there and more of its not a bad deal still and I spend money on dumb things
You guys can shut the hell up about watching games. I've had to pay for BeIN and Setanta Sports to watch my team like 5 times a season.
wonder if they'll allow multiple logins at once? my buddy is gonna get it for west ham and was wondering if we could both use it for the occasional time city is on there
This article goes a little bit more in depth on the new NBC package. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports...free-paid-subscription-cable-tv-20170627.html Sounds like the overflow channels are going away.
so the article says 250 on traditional linear television, 130 on this new premium subscription. what of the other 380?
So it's just the NBC overflow channels (MSNBC, CNBC) going away? Or does this also apply to the PL Extra Time channels on directv?
When the Manchester Derby happens, it shows that City and United each played a game, but that doesn't mean two games were played.
i am a very simple man and dont understand. is it only nbc/nbcsn on basic tv for 250, premium subscription for 130 and streaming through the app for the remainder?
