So apparently even if I sign up for ESPN+ I can’t watch today using the app on the Xbox One. Reading online it sounds like I could work around by using the Internet app on the Xbox One. That is dumb ESPN
They just don’t have stuff on the app. Not sure why. I am watching it on the Xbox by using the Xbox browser but it doesn’t have any sound. I tested it before the match clicking on their ESPNFC link which had sound so I don’t know what the issue is Edit: Closed window, opened new one and now I have sound. Prefer to have the ease of the app but not a bad setup
Because there is no home in the US for FA Cup rights so far. ESPN+ picked up the rights for this. Someone needs to buy the FA Cup rights though or its going to be more of this
Good info. Hope nbc picks it up. Although I could see the FA asking for UCL money for FA based on the EPL deal.
I don’t understand why but I’ve read plenty of stuff that they (honestly not sure who they is) we’re trying to shop Serie A and FA Cup rights together and as of now neither have a home. ESPN and Turner have been talked about most recently
IMG owns the rights for both and supposedly asking for a lot of money. Author didn’t feel like a deal would be done this year.
Bein is completely removed from fios/no fa cup plus just paid my gold renewal for their shitty streams, not happy right now.
I know and just realized that bein had league cup last year as well so guessing I don't get that either now, fanfuckingtastic
He claims he doesn't have money to invest, but in Rafa's time as manager he's got the team promoted and into top 10, while making like 40+ million in profit in the transfer market. Ashley's just a typical businessman that only cares about the bottom line. I won't post it all, but an MP took it to Parliament, and Ashley responded today talking about how he took care of a bunch of debt, blah blah blah. It's all a complete shit show. This is the third time in six years the team has had issues with the wage bonus structure. Apparently the squad not signing the bonus structure is what led to the sacking of Hughton and the selling of all the major figures of that team(Carroll, Barton, Nolan, etc). It's the same shit over and over and Ashley can't get out of his own way
Ya I didn't really want to bring it up in here because if it happens, thats really devastating for Arsenal. Kronke essentially following what the Glazer's did with United except Arsenal aren't swimming in cash like United.
I can’t remember a season where 4 of the big 6 seem to be limping into the season. City haven’t really stengthened much for their standards but they are loaded and are champions. Liverpool have spent a lot and have very high expectations. After that though you have United who are entering the season with Jose bitching. Tottenham haven’t signed one player. Chelsea have signed 1 and have an AWOL goalkeeper and a likely unhappy star player. Arsenal have made some additions but the Kronkoe news is already seeing supporter issues. Just weird having 4 of the top 6 like this at the start.
C'mon, you're about to get Kovacic on loan and Fekir. Reportedly. Meanwhile we're over here ready to climax when (if?) we sign a lukewarm corpse.
Wasn’t saying who’s problems are worse. Just that I couldn’t remember a year with 4 with problems like this. Your problems are not nearly as bad as Chelsea’s though unless you are strictly looking at transfer market ins only. We have a manager who’s given 3 weeks to radically change how we play and have an AWOL goalkeeper.
I'm on edge, forgive me. It's a weird season we're about to start and, regarding Tottenham, I'm reminded of Trickett's freeze-offensive-line tactic. Not sure about what CFB comparison there is for Chelsea.
Maybe the gators if you take a 10 year lookback? Either champions or a complete fucking disaster. Nothing between. I was more just making the observation that the battle for the last 2 champions league spots will be intriguing because of the turmoil with 4 of the bigger clubs.
I would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and sympathy during this difficult time as a Chelsea fan

Kronke buying out minority owners with debt (550 million) which he will surely pay back by taking money out of the club.
Gonna be busy the rest of the week, doing my predictions for 18-19 season now... 1. Man City 2. Liverpool 3. Man United 4. Spurs 5. Chelsea 6. Arsenal 7. Everton 8. Hammers 9. Wolves 10. LCFC 11. Apparently that’s the world we live in and I don’t know how it got there. I don’t know anyone that paid for Fox Soccer Plus but a year after NBC Sports Gold it’s now ESPN+ for Championship, FA cup, MLS and Serie A, NBC Sports Gold for EPL and whatever Turner will call their service for UCL/Europa if you want access to everything. Then you need cable login for LaLiga and Ligue 1 on beIN, FS1/2 for Bundesliga plus the regular stuff shown on NBCSN/USA/CNBC that isn’t shown on Gold. Not sure if the stuff shown on TNT for UCL is available on pay without cable subscription
Isn't it a mixture of people dropping cable, lot of league games are played at the same time and it not being the main sport here?
Turner is hiding some UCL behind paywall. Isn’t showing any Europa on regular cable subscription except the final.
I know all of this. What I’m saying is that I’m not sure if it’s the same deal as NBC with EPL where you only have access to the stuff not being shown on tv or if paying for the sub means you get it all even if you don’t have cable. Also, this isn’t the thread for it but I already went at the anti Turner BS in the UCL thread. It’s a handful of matches less than Fox was showing without paying and we get world feed announcers instead of Fox announcers. Fair trade. Europa handling is complete horseshit though.
Moreso that we went from 0-60 really quick on the pay services. I get Championship being behind a paywall because I’m not sure how much of a market there is for that here. Serie A and FA Cup sound like it’ll be entirely behind paywall at ESPN but I’m not certain of that.
Doesn't help cable is in the middle of shitting itself and Netflix has a model that is thriving without live sports
