He got the job after winning the champions league. Was sacked about five months later after Chelsea didn’t get out of champions league group. Fat Spanish Waiter took over at that point.
Right I realize he wasn’t a stalwart, just that he fit the mold of the rare mid season appointment that had success, which is what was asked. Further validating the point that he was a compete flash in the pan.

Anyone have Gold last year and successfully switch to just the live pass instead of the Premier League pass? I’m dumb and can’t figure it out. I turned off auto renewal for Premier League Pass but can’t figure out how to get live pass, it doesn’t even show as an option once I’m signed in and if I try before signing in, it wants me to sign up and doesn’t allow me to sign in
Their website is fucking absolutely horrible. I'm going just wait until the first week I can't watch to renew on the live. I turned renew off.
I did it for the first time last year and loved it. It’s really not that much work - just wanted to gauge interest.
It’s weird because Villa has always been under represented here (i.e. 0 fans) but then there are 3 Villa supporters in the not very large collection of Toronto soccer media members.
I’m sure I’m not the only one who played some fifa back in the day as villa with the Ashley young/gabby agbonlahor/James Milner attacking trident. Can’t teach pace like agbonlahor. Unfortunately you couldn’t teach him how to actually play the sport.
I’ve followed villa religiously since 2004 Probably watched 35 of their championship matches last year
American owner and didn’t want United or Chelsea Little did I know the American owner is an enormous twat
All of this VAR talk by Tyler and Robson is so condescending. We don't need them speculating on how VAR will change games; we've seen how it works in all of the other top leagues + Champions League + World Cup.
So The Athletic is now adding English writers to cover teams, does anyone know if one subscription covers all The Athletic content, or will the UK site be under a different umbrella?
