Oh for sure. Just answering the question of why the on the field ref didn’t say more. VAR fucked it up.
After spending a few years in the championship I can safely say I won’t miss them if they decide to leave
honestly I don't hate the idea. I enjoy Fulham's Championship seasons so much more than our PL ones because we win. To use a baseball analogy, we're like a 4A player: good enough to be a successful minor leaguer, not good enough to stay in the majors. The top 6-8 teams are on such a different playing field than the rest of us that the best we can hope for in a given year is sniffing Europe qualification. A Leicester City is going to happen once every generation or so, but there's no realistic shot year after year. Removing the biggest spenders levels the playing field and makes the whole pyramid more competitive
would be kinda funny if the top teams left for this Europe Premier League, then it failed and for the EPLs and La Ligas of the world to tell all of those teams to pound sand.
Why would a team like arsenal spurs or United even want to do that they’ll just finish last every season instead of winning sometimes
Had to put in the 20 years can't be relegated thing because a few English teams would be fighting relegation every year.
nothing quite like a player's safety not being guaranteed for a match thanks to his religious beliefs. who would want to miss out on that.
I'm not saying I like it. I was just surprised when I read the details after the way I had seen it framed.
It is 34 games with a knockout tournament. The big clubs already complain about fixture congestion. Where are they going to play that while being in the premier league?
the article says it’ll take place over European schedules so this more replaces CL/Europa than it does domestic league play
Each year on fifa I create a four tier English pyramid with the top 92 teams sorted by overall rating. I always am surprised when it comes to the knockout phase since every other league has been robbed of their talented teams.
So you play with like PSG/Bayern/Juve in the PL, Dortmund, Milan in the Championship, Leipzig in League 1, etc? That's interesting
Yeah, that’s the idea. I pick one of the League Two teams at random and start from the bottom, try to ascend the ladder.
It’s fun though. I had Köln last time and it was actually exhilarating making it far into the League Cup and upsetting Milan and PSG.
