Sounds like he lied when he was first approached, then he came clean, then he admitted he had a problem, and finally was diagnosed with a gambling disorder I think the ban should’ve been 3 months with the caveat that he has to continue counseling throughout his playing career.

I don’t think he fixed matches or that took place. I 100% think he was using inside info from his peers which is fucked.
No I think it’s fucked up he (likely) made a nice chunk of money that others couldn’t because they didn’t have the same information available that he did.
He literally brought into question the integrity of the results by betting against his own team. 3 months would be an absolute joke. I think a multi-year ban with the contingency for counseling throughout. It is for his own good too. Look at Paul Merson. This ruins lives. It is in his own best interest and a slap on the wrist doesn't help.
It is in the best interest of the league to come to that conclusion. It's hard to take seriously. There would be a total shitstorm if they acknowledged that or even made a huge effort to try to make that the case.
