Interviews with subs off seems like a train wreck. Isn't everyone who gets subbed off usually pissed more than half the time
Who actually likes these things? There's almost never any sort of real information or insight gleaned from in-game "interviews" and it slows the broadcast down. Seems like a mess for soccer since there are no commercial breaks. And many players don't primarily speak English.
“Hi, you were unceremoniously hauled off after only 45 minutes. Can you talk about that?” or even better “So your season probably just ended with a catastrophic knee injury. Before you’re loaded on to the ambulance, can you walk us through what you were thinking when your ligaments snapped like rubber bands?” best case scenario they pick the saltiest interviewees and it’s just EPL Greg Popovitch
I saw where cameras can go onto the pitch for goal celebrations, that actually could be fun Premier League broadcasts will feature interviews with substituted players, as well as more on-pitch and dressing room camera access from next season. Broadcasters will also be allowed to enter the pitch in order to capture close-up footage of goal celebrations.— The Athletic | Football (@theathleticfc.bsky.social) 2025-06-27T15:14:41.870Z
Maybe I’m just a messy bitch but I would like to hear immediately from the dude who didn’t shake his manager’s hand after being yanked. Obviously not because it’s insightful or useful, but because it might be very funny.
I think you significantly underestimate just how dumb the average human being is. I am not arguing with you.
Putting this here because it feels more applicable, City still look pretty frail in the midfield and in transition. I didn’t see Rodri the other night, sounds he looked good, but I wonder if Prem teams will feel like City can still be had like last year.
I would love to hear the pitch about playing time during negotiations.......guessing they secured a bag and don't give a shit
Its not even that much of a bag, its long contracts on modest wages. I have no idea how players are still signing up to go there at this point
MADRID (AP) — Liverpool player Diogo Jota and his brother have died in a car accident in Spain, police said Thursday. The Spanish civil guard confirmed to The Associated Press that Jota and his brother were found dead after their car went off a road near the western city of Zamora. Police were investigating the causes. They said there were no other vehicles involved. The 28-year-old Jota and his brother, 25-year-old Andre Silva, both Portuguese players, were in the car. Jota also played for Portugal’s national team and helped it win the Nations League last month. Silva played with Portuguese club Penafiel in the lower divisions. Jota joined Liverpool from Wolves in 2020 and won three major trophies with the Merseyside club — including the Premier League title last season Jota’s death comes weeks after he married Rute Cardoso and in a social media post wrote, “Yes to forever.” The AP approached Liverpool for comment but the club had not immediately responded.
Just awful. Just married and just won a trophy for club and country. At the absolute pinnacle of emotions and just like that he's gone. So sad.
