Euphoria (HBO)

I’m 48 and normally I just cannot relate at all to what it would be like being a teenager in the digital age. Shows focusing on teens today lose me right away. But so far I feel like I can relate to every character in this show on some level. I’m almost done with Ep. 4 at the carnival and I had to pause it to give my brain a few minutes of clean air.

The only downside so far is it makes me want to do drugs, but I know how to deal with triggers these days.

Cat’s character had run its course. Not a big loss, IMO.

 

Saw talk in the replies that Levinson wanted her to have an eating disorder in S2 and the actress refused so he cut a ton of her S2 scenes

 

Believe Barbie had an eating disorder in real life in her early teens, and the idea of portraying it on the show really upset her. Can’t blame her. Seems like most everyone has clashed with Levinson at some point.

 

It seems like he’s constantly pushing the line w what the actresses are comfortable with. But also doesn’t pressure them into it. I’ve seen stories about how he’s puts in some nudity/sex scenes and the actresses say no and he’s ok if they do.

You could see that going either way. He’s being shitty for going that far or. Being cool about it not raising a stink if they say no.

That said, I hope they kill off Cat because she kind of sucked.

 

As with most things, the truth probably lands somewhere in the middle.

 

I could see Cat having an eating disorder tho so its not like it is out of line for the character

good for the actress

 

Been a bit since I watched but from what I recall, I disagree. She seemed to thrive when embracing her body

 

Maybe she shouldn't act incredulous over the internet calling out her family members for being magat trash. The internet didn't make the absurd political statement - they did.

I think it’s been implied that it was suicide, partially due to his dad’s death.
