Exactly. My friend had a heart condition that doctors can't even test for, and he just happened to be at a location with an AED. Had he been on a hike with his family he would have died. I really hope Eriksen has the same luck.
Yeah that's 100% false. The unified feed doesn't determine when you stop your broadcast and go back to the studio.
Most large sporting events will staff physicians and nurses in addition to EMS. We usually tried to have at least one ER doctor and a cardiologist in the stadium. We would also have ER nurses and nurses from the cardiology unit there too. This is for the athletes and for the people in attendance. We would have a few spectators a season fall out like that during a game especially when it was super hot.
stuff like this made me think of the bid cities for the World Cup here and how Florida cities shouldn’t get games unless they build a retractable roof w AC
These things have happened before of course, but this is the first time I’ve been watching live, which is probably the same for a lot of people. Not fun.
they may be discussing if the next game needs to be suspended and/or when this game can actually resume. Tomorrow or maybe played after the other 2 games? Some people saying they need to cancel multiple days in a row seem to be going a bit overboard but maybe they didn’t know if he was alive or not when they were saying that. I can’t see them resuming this game tonight though.
Reacted/stopped the game pretty fast all things considered *That's what I'm seeing him get credit for
The fact he is young, athletic, plus factors for recovery. young folks can take a beating and come back. wonder what the underlying cause is.
the amount of games they’ve had to play over the last year with the compressed schedules is insane. it really should be cancelled completely but obviously won’t
far too early to speculate on that. No one has any idea what actually happened. You’d think with the Medicals they have that they’d catch a major preexisting conditions but it’s possible they didn’t. Just happy he is alive and being reported as stable. Being able to ever play again at this point would be a bonus.
Thought they moved it to Winter . Either way Qatar shouldn’t be hosting and if the U.S was hosting it should be only at Domes for games in the Southeast
What the fuck is Twellman talking about a min and 40 secs isn't a fast enough response? That is lightning fast considering if this happed anywhere else like his home it would be 30 mins before anyone could get to him.
Has Erickson had Covid? With what happened to Keyonte, it looked very similar as NYGator cheddarisbetter have said.
That's what is so scary about these situations. These athletes are monitored so closely and things can still happen like this.
I went backed and looked at Keyontae article and they said the collapse was unrelated to covid. I can’t help but be skeptical though.
Theres been a ton of talk about that heart condition with the enlarged/inflamed heart post covid. I forget the name of the condition but the big 10 was claiming that was the risk for not playing.
Wondered the same thing. Have a friend that is late 30's and a runs marathons. She had Covid and had multiple strokes out of left field a few months after recovering. They believe a clot that was in her lungs broke loose and moved to her brain. She was training one day and the next day in the the ICU. She had no symptoms of anything prior to the stroke.
If someone is seizing you're supposed to put them on their sides so their tongue can't block the airway. Photo seems to be him making sure Eriksen can breathe
that’s it. I hate guessing and speculating but he’s clearly an extremely healthy guy who has gone through extensive medical tests for medicals and such. If he had a heart condition, they would know about it.
CPR was administered in 1 minute and 48 seconds part of that speed is because how quickly he realized the problem and signaled for medical help
Believe he made the throw and immediately waved to the sideline when he saw Eriksen go down. Few seconds could have made the difference
