I agree it's disgusting, but at the end of the day it's just sports. If we're going to start criticizing american ownership it's deserved, but do we really let Russian or oil state ownership off the hook for much worse things? I think it can be summarized with rich people fucking suck and always look out for #1
yes they all do 100%. just speaking to this specific ordeal which is 100% being pushed by the american contingent of the trash that is the billionaire class
Whole lot of Billionaire bootlicking going on. For those who have experienced the Championship it is good fun and I can't wait to welcome or new Barnsley overlords with Dike leading the helm.
Every time my buddy travels to Europe, he puts the Canadian flag on his backpack so people don’t think he’s an American. Based on our involvement in this charade, it seems like it’s an idea worth stealing for myself.
City official supporters groups release statement against it. Imagine we will see that from everyone https://www.mancityosc.com/post/european-super-league
It’s for sure a power grab that has been coming for years. I’m sure covid has brought more clubs to the table. The competition sounds a whole lot more interesting than the CL does. I do laugh at people crying making uefa and fifa the victim. They’ve been completely corrupt for decades. The whole guaranteed spot forever part feels wrong for sure. This stops billionaires and foreign governments buying football clubs IMO. We’ll see where this goes, all of this is high stakes negotiation at this point. Banning the teams in domestic competition who bring 90% of the eyeballs, will be a death sentence for the prem. This is an attempt to Americanize european soccer which stinks. There should be merit on inclusion.
Kind of hard to believe that Chelsea are going to be the last champions league champions ever. We will humbly accept the responsibility
you don’t get to cheer on being backed by unlimited oil money then be like hey, why are teams trying to make lots of money.
You realize the OSG is likely run by lifelong fans in Manchester. Insinuating they should’ve stopped being fans when a billionaire bought the club is beyond tired and stupid
I for one will not miss watching red star Belgrade vs Brugge in the group stages. The teams who weren’t able to join I feel for. The Napoli’s, Roma’s, Monaco’s, Lyon’s of European soccer will be the ones who suffer the most.
Does anyone think that fifa would ban the top players from the World Cup and take the major revenue hit that would come with that? Corrupt ass fifa only cares about cash.
So it's like half the Liverpool guys in favor and everyone else opposed? Just so I get a sense of then sentiment in here.
