We just aren’t bad enough to lose out. 6-7 wins. Sucks knowing that with decent coaches we probably are in the playoffs with 9-10 wins
The absolute worst thing that could happen is us finishing 7-9, keeping Morris/Koetter and keeping this disaster going. Shame on me for thinking it wasn’t a possibility
Most predictable falcons season of all time. You could make an absolute killing betting first half and second half win totals with this team. This franchise self sabotages better than anybody out there.
He is literally the reason we lost one game and his incompetence almost cost us today’s game. But yes let’s hire his ass
I mean sure everyone is buying those takk McKinley jerseys. Love holding my breath like everyone else on first and McKinley, second and McKinley, and third and McKinley because he fucking owns those downs. It must be how Red Sox fans felt when Pedro was pitching. No wonder he was called the Reggie White of UCLA, just an absolute beast.
At least the league knows the falcons aren't trying to tank. Hell if we were going to do that we'd have hired bill o'brien
I stand by my earlier comments just plug in the name of any other defensive player outside of 1, Maybe 2 or 3, guys. McKinley must be some asshole who thinks he's way better than he clearly is.
McKinley had expressed his desire to be traded before the trade deadline and took to social media to say the Falcons turned down fifth- and sixth-round draft pick offers from multiple teams despite his request to be traded. The fourth-year veteran also said that he requested a trade last year but Atlanta turned down a second-round pick offer for him then. Now McKinley is free to choose where he goes once he clears waivers. /falcons
Seeing how these things have played out for the last couple years, you gotta be a brain dead GM to not trade a player once they start asking for a trade. I can’t think of a single example where a player has publicly requested a trade, the team said no, then they just hugged and made up and the player stayed with the team and it worked out for both in the long run.
Seeing that about Tak made me go back and look at 2017 draft. Some highlights: - traded up to get Tak you already know, but it’s also gut wrenching to know TJ Watt was still on the board, and we chose Tak over him. Pitt got TJ 4 picks later. - we traded out of the 2nd round to accumulate later picks. Got a 3rd, 5th and 6th. Used 3rd on Duke Riley, which was widely seen as huge reach even at the time. 5th pick was Kazee, 6th was Brian Hill. Buffalo took our pick and signed their starting LT who they just extended for 4 years - Aaron Jones was still on the board when we took Hill - Kittle was still on the board when we took Saubert in the 6th. - When we wasted our 3rd round pick on Riley, Eddie Jackson and John Johnson were still available, as were Kareem Hunt and James Conner (and Tarik Cohen). TD been trying to tank this team since way before we were on the tank train.
The latter stuff with Kittle, Jones etc was more just for “fun”, but the 1st and 3rd round shitting the bed was peak TD. Trading up to take a guy in 1st we could’ve waited to get, then selecting him over a future pro bowler, combined with trading back and panic reaching on our 3rd rounder were both the sort of unforgivable mistake that TD made every year and just never took any heat for (until mercifully this year)
It’s convenient to look back on a draft and cherry-pick who became an All-Pro but at the same time, if TD has hit on maybe like two of his galaxy brain picks maybe things break differently for us
Tankathon now has us with the 10th pick in the draft. This is the dumbest fucking franchise on earth.
My 12 year old Seahawks fan son sent me some link on why Raheem Morris should be our next coach. Told him if he sent me anymore shit like that I was telling Verizon to shut off his phone. You chose a different team than me to avoid this misery so stay out of it.
