Sign me up for Fontenot and Brady. I’d love to knock this out sooner than later since literally every sports media outlet is saying we’re the worst job out there. It’s the change we need and I don’t love a lot of the options out there. Actually I dislike a lot of the options
Good morning, We let Kyle Shanahan and Sark walk out of the building but let Dan Quinn stay. thank you for coming to me Ted Talk
Hey when you've got the Dallas cowboys defensive coordinator for a head coach, well you've got to keep that kind of talent
I really think I’d rather take our chances on a coordinator that’s an unproven commodity as a HC over a HC that has been fired already. Feels like we know the ceiling of the latter, and could at least hit the lottery on the former.
I would rather have him than an unproven coordinator. Sure you could guess and say that Reich did everything to get them that super bowl, but you could play that game with any candidate (Bienemy and Reid). Or you could just give me Brady and I'd be down.
Yeah, giant question mark with him imo. He's not going to have a runningback like Henry here in Atlanta. Also interesting fact about him he is literally the heir to the Fedex fortune.
True, but what he's done with Tannehill is impressive as hell. Guy went from backup to by far his best 2 seasons as a pro. I dont think he's my top choice, but I wouldnt be mad about it either
Man I did not realize that is who that was. Knew his younger sister. I would not be happy with it. Thats an offense predicated around a unicorn talent in Henry. Guess its better than Hackett but not as good as Brady.
So we down to Rick Smith and Fontenot? Not sure I want a Saints guy Rick Smith did draft a lot of talent in Houston before BOB destroyed them. I like him
Twitter those guys are the 2 favorites. Brady worked with him in New Orleans briefly so they have been connected the whole search.
sure, he’s been around an Org that lives in salary cap hell but drafts well and has a balanced roster. I’m still pissed we took Takk with Ryan Ramcyzk on the board
It obviously would have worked out, but can you imagine how much everyone would have lost their minds at the time if Dimitroff had drafted another OL out of Wisconsin when everyone thought the need was DE?
Maybe I'm missing something but Smith does not excite me and feels like the guy they wanted if they were gonna stick with Matt Ryan until his arm falls off
Sounds like it’s smith. I wonder how he’ll handle a sketchy O line and not being able to give the ball to Derrick Henry 30 times a game.
Honestly, if he know how to manage the end of a game and has even a basic trust of analytics and how to apply them, he could be an upgrade. The GM will be even more critical
Maybe Arthur Smith ends up being a great hire but this just feels boring and lazy Arthur Blank has been entirely too loyal to people that didn't deserve it with Rich Mckay, Dan Quinn, and Thomas Dimitroff. Now he's hiring a guy with a dad he definitely has at minimum a business relationship and the hire being the one that makes it feel like they wanted to hire a guy that would stick with Ryan for the long haul. This guy may not be fired until after he dies.
We’re bringing Todd Gurley back and giving him 30 carries a game. When he dies on the field in Week 3, we use the insurance money to fix the cap issues.
I’m completely ambivalent about this hire. I prefer hiring O guys and this guy has done some solid work with Tannehill. Far more concerned about how we will manage cap and unfuck our roster.
If I’ve learned anything from what Cornelius Suttree has told me about Art, we’ve got the next Belicheck.
I would definitely prefer Brady or even Pederson to Smith. But whatever man. Feels like coordinators are just a flip of the coin. Maybe he will be good. I just have no idea. I am, however, pleased with Fontenot.
might be a terrible take, but I actually respect Smith more because of the FedEx thing and the fact that he's gotten to this point. If that was me I wouldn't be doing shit
