did not realize Dean Pees was the D Coordinator. Good hire. Really happy we did not hire Louis Riddick. Saw him on Senior Bowl practice last night, nothing but a company man serving cliches and platitudes.
Yeah and he missed 4 games just last season. He's trending worse. His age factors into the injuries. Seems He hasn't been 100% for a long time and is always playing thru something. HIs contract is a concern too tho.
What a nightmare of a contract https://www.profootballnetwork.com/matt-ryan-contract-breakdown-salary-bonuses/
Good lord, how much do they have to cut past $35 to get up to 53 and sign the draft class, including the hefty #4 pick.
It's not really as bad as what they wrote. Honest. " Matt Ryan’s contract details and bonuses Matt Ryan signed a five-year contract extensionworth $150 million per year with the Falcons in 2018. The contract made Ryan the highest-paid quarterback in NFL history at the time, as he was the first player to receive an annual average value of $30 million per year." $150 million per year would be terrible.
It’s almost like TD sucked at his job and a Sundowning owner only cares about getting his stadium built
I want to make a joke about how being a Falcons fan has led to a lifetime of depression. That was really cool though and now I feel like an asshole.
Been playing around with the draft simulator. My favorite thus far: 1: Sewell 2: Ojulari (perfect for 3-4 and homer pick, ) 3: IDL or another edge player here 4. Kelvin Joseph CB
I’ve spent way too much time this week messing with this. I find myself trading back most of the time. I ended up with 30 draft picks in one mock
The Dolphins usually give me their 2nd first round pick plus their 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the #4 pick. It’s helped pass the time this week
Tabeek's latest mock is beautiful. It will never happen but lets dream... Tabeek's latest mock has us trading with Denver back to 9 taking Surtain. Denver wants Fields at 4. Falcons receive: No. 9 overall (2021), No. 40 overall (2021), first-round pick (2022), second-round pick (2022), fourth-round pick (2022) Broncos receive: No. 4 overall (2021), sixth-round pick (2022)
As much as I love Surtain (and we certainly need all the DB help we can get), I don’t think you can pass on Sewell at four
I wouldn't be mad with that either tbh. It's hard to look at the defensive needs and draft a TE though.
Pitts is an awesome player but we currently have zero safeties and our corners and o-line still suck (Thanks TD). Plus, Hurst was pretty good last year
Seems like a lot to move up 5 spots. If y'all aren't taking a QB and OT is gone, y'all have to trade back and take whatever is given
I'd kill to trade back. I agree it's a lot to move up 5 spots but since it's for a QB I'll allow it in this hypothetical.
Yeah. Seems every fanbase always wants to trade back and it never happens. Gotta hope someone needs a QB.
I could see this draft being a little different for us. Picking at 4 with what is considered a loaded QB class might bring us suitors.
It really is best case for falcons & pray the Dolphins don't do something stupid. They are a playoff team with a young QB and should just take the best player in the draft and not be stupid. I'm guessing there will be teams with Fields/Wilson at 2a/2b so there should be a ton of interest depending on which one is there at 4. Eagles went from 8 to 2 for Wentz and the picks aren't much different than what was listed above
I just hope the Dolphins draft a WR instead of Sewell and then we aren't dumb enough to pass on Sewell.
Weren’t Sterns and Wilson really good their sophomore years? Those guys would be steals if I’m remembering correctly
Believe so. I also think we could use Wilson at nose(especially on early downs?) since we are moving to 3-4. Would allow us to move Grady around. Also can we have a re-do on that bum we drafted from the school on the Plains? I thought he was the steal of the draft last year.
I just dont see the point in drafting a possible All-Pro LT on a team with so many holes unless we address the rest of the OL. And even then IMO he'll have such a small impact on the O. Hopefully someone will fall in love with him and trade up and give us some loot. Id be ok with Surtain at 9 or the BYU QB. We need so much help on D too.
Still want Wilson of fields at 4. If we really are a bpa drafting team now, I honestly have no fucking clue where they might go. I would imagine Sewell if there
Yea, Sewell would be the BPA no brainer pick IMO. You can move Mathews to RT or just trade him and keep McGary's bullshit at RT. Does Hennessy take over at C? Lindstrom at one guard spot.
You get Sewell and move Matthews to RT and McGary to RG imo. Let MgGary be a mauler on the inside with his nasty streak
