I mean a G is a need because 70% of our roster is dog meat average but we had a despicable defense last year, couldn’t afford to do anything to it in FA, and now have gone O 2/3 picks. I guess we are going to play like a Big XII team every Sunday
Played tackle at UM. He's athletic enough to stay there, but his arms are short and apparently he's the one guy in league history to have an awful pro day so I don't know. He's very talented, but needs work on a lot of stuff the next few years.
He played really well at tackle for most of the game vs Chase Young and that got him on the map...didn’t play much this past year due to injury but he flashes high end talent. But he had some clunkers in there too.
I think that’s probably a little harsh. Dude was in great shape prior to his injury last year. He was mocked as a first rounder coming into the season but the injury derailed that and sounds like he still isn’t back to 100%. If he gets to full strength he could be a very good value pick for a third rounder.
40. Falcons: Richie Grant, S, UCF Grade: A+ Favorite pick of the second round so far. Grant is capable of anything you need out of your safety in today's NFL. Super-twitchy. Very experienced and can legitimately cover the slot. Good tackler too. Atlanta needed this type of defensive bacK.
kiper The picks: Richie Grant, S, UCF (No. 40); Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan (No. 68) Grant is one of my favorite prospects in this class, and he's so versatile that he could play as a deep safety or as a box safety. The Falcons gave up a franchise record in passing yards (4,697) and passing touchdowns (34) in 2020, and taking Grant is a step toward improvement. He's only 20 years old -- he's going to need some time before he's a quality NFL starter -- but he does have some traits that intrigued scouts. Could he move inside to guard as a rookie while learning both positions? I like Mayfield's potential.
So we drafted our second round pick because he works out with a guy on the team and our 4th round pick because he's friends with the coaches brother.
My love for Azeez as the best pass rusher in this draft is well known. why we refuse to address the D front is mystifying.
I’ve been fine with our draft ♂️. Ball hawks, legit potential starters on oline. Best overall player. everything has been a need
Speaking of former UGA players, I didn't realize Richard Lecounte had torpedoed his draft stock so badly with that wreck and pro day. Was surprised to see him still available. Would love to pick him up with one of those 5ths if he's still there.
Re: Hall I think for where we got him the ESPN review is a pretty good review. “Pre-Draft Analysis Hall is a versatile defensive back with good instincts. He flashes the ability to jump routes and pluck the ball out of the air, but his below-average length and frame hinder his ability to win 50-50 balls. He has good stopping power for his size. -- Steve Muench” In our division there’s not a lot of tall receivers that he’ll be lined up against for 50/50 red zone balls. I think that’s a fixable weakness that our new DC can also help coverup with alignments. His film looked really solid. Love the Stanford center pick and that UCF Safety the more I read on him the more impressed I am. I really like our overall draft so far. Addressing needs, not reaching too much, all of their weaknesses/shortcomings seem correctable with teaching and time in the weight room. The past decade so many of our picks had unfixable flaws. Undersized, not intelligent, and unmotivated.
