If you fire Fontenot, you have to fire Raheem. I don't think any GM worth a damn wants to inherit a coaching staff they didn't build. Which is why I doubt we move on from any of them.
What’s the consensus theory on Pitts? Soured on Atlanta and quit on the team? Feel like he’s gotta be coming up on the end of his rookie contract.
Even though we ended the year 2-6, since they finally started Penix and he played well, they'll say we're "trending in the right direction!" and keep everybody.
It doesn’t seem like he has that crazy will that you see from elite players but he’s also been with some pretty awful systems/qbs so who knows. Regardless a terrible draft pick
The team picked up his 5th year option so he has one more year on the contract. His first and best season he had the best QB in franchise history throwing to him. Maybe an off-season with Penix could change some things? Or they could trade him for a/some draft pick/s.
The defensive effort the last 6 quarters of the season was truly spectacular stuff. What an organization.
not that any of those guys were worth a pinch of dog shit but didn’t realize they are all gone Terry is absolute trash at his job
I have no idea who the person tweeting this is, but I believe him 100%. This is exactly how Blank does things.
Lake sucks, tried to tell yall if the defense was as good as last year this would be a good ass team. Font, mccay, and lake need to go
At one point we had like a 96% chance of making the playoffs and 92% of winning the division. When the odds get that high we really should dump our life savings onto the Falcons NOT succeeding bc it’s almost a guarantee at that point then we have enough money to buy the team from Arthur, fire all the bums, and publically execute Rich McKay Hunger Games style. Fontenot not speaking to the media till Thursday. How does this man get a pass for his war crimes
worst part is this is a pretty desirable job on paper with all the weapons on offense and Penix showing enough to be The Guy going forward. We could probably be an interesting opportunity for a guy like Ben Johnson. but we will ride the Raheem ship until we have to overpay for Penix and be stuck in purgatory forever.
the Patriots fired Mayo after one year in a far worse situation... That's what it's like having a serious owner. We might as well find a new team srs
Lake has to go but this statement doesn't give me much hope. Head coach Raheem Morris admitted taking a bigger role in the defense after the bye week. The Falcons were able to get more sacks, but they still went 2-4 in that span giving up 33-points-per game in those four losses.
Drafted Ruke in the 2nd Gave up a 3rd for Judon Lake is trash Simmons is trash Fire everyone involved down to the scouting department.
I'm kinda pissed at how fast the Patriots fired Mayo. I dont think any chance Blank wants to be the guy that fires the other black coach in his first season. The optics would be horrendous and I'm sure the media outlets would have a field day.
At this point I would settle for firing the black GM. Could just point to our cap issues and the fact that we only have 4 draft picks in the next draft.
I get that being an NFL head coach is hard, and there aren't just a bunch of Andy Reids floating around unclaimed, but for the life of me I'll never understand people hiring coaches (and unnecessarily giving long contracts) that have tried and failed previously. I don't mean guys who went deep into the playoffs then sortve fell off and the team moved on, I'm talking about 35% career winning percentage and never having shown even glimpses of having "it". Dude is 76 games in as a HC, all of it spent within a division that isn't exactly the AFC North, and 0 playoff appearances. What did anybody see in him to think "oh yea he's got it figured out now"? Why not try an unproven commodity vs the guy who is proven to be a failure at the gig?
He hung out at the NFL cool kids table for 5+ years and got their ringing endorsement. That's oversimplifying it, but it really is the answer to the question. Les Snead and McVay and the rest of the Shanny tree guys.
I’ve got until Thursday to figure out how to make fake press credentials so I can call Terry an incompetent fucking moron
https://www.ajc.com/sports/atlanta-...e-falcons-in-2024/6FPOLBXCFRHZJI6FYNQX77LPJ4/ don't worry guys raheem has a plan
“We didn’t do a good enough job and it starts with me,” Morris said. “We have to find ways to win games. Find ways to be more consistent. We have to find ways to win those very winnable games that we had on our schedule, that we had a chance to win. ... It starts with me.” look just find ways to win the games, it's pretty simple.
His plan to takeover the D for the back half of the year worked great, so I'm sure this will also work.
To definitively say the Falcons won’t do something stupid just shows how little he knows about the Falcons.
