A few more thoughts: -I loved how they billed Kieran Caulkin as a star before the season. Very Shield-esque with Reed Diamond and I adore the Shield. -I'm so glad they're not going through the motions with the story (ie Lou and Hanzee being onto Dunst and Todd already). Fargo is more character driven than plot but it's awesome to see both being executed so well (as opposed to TD S2). -I've got to give Jeffery Donovan some credit for being so menacing as Dodd. Burn Notice is one of my few guilty pleasure shows and it's filled with tons of cheese so it's nice to see him showing some decent acting chops here.
My favorite part of the season is him saying "Wha'd ya say?" when Lou told him he was dancing with the wrong girl.
5 minutes in oh holy fuck, Indian mother fucker is a bad man. Didn't think the Kitchen bros would be going out like that, with their unlimited ammo sawed offs.
Just because I was interested (and because I want Fargo to be more believable than The Walking Dead ie. Herschel's unlimited ammo shotgun in season 2) I looked it up... a typical shotgun like that would probably hold 8 shells so 16 available between the two of them. You actually see 12 shots fired between both of them. You hear more and see 3 guys go down from the Kitchen bros' point of view but the heard ones that don't take a Gerhardt person down on screen could just be shots from others in the woods. It puts it right in the 15-16 range though.
Yeah I had no clue it just seemed like a lot. This coming from a person who has shot guns like twice in his life.
What i don't understand is why Tonto didn't kill both of them, he doesn't seem like the type to not finish a job.
ahh that makes sense, left him alive to deliver ol' dudes head back to Bookeem Woodbine. i didn't even think of that.
Just another amazing episode. Ted Danson is doing a fantastic job and the side story of Lou's wife is really well done imo
The music for this season has been great. I loved how "Children of the Sun" was played right before the diner scene and then at the close of an episode (3-4 episodes later) they picked up where they left off. Little bit of trivia - the person doing the music for this season, or "scoring" as cunts say, was a member of the band "Tonic"
Well, the preview for next week certainly gave away a lot. Amazing show, kinda disappointed in how stupid they made the sons though.
Rain cut out 5 minutes of the show for me.... Spoiler Offerman was just sitting down outside with the brother to talk about his son and then next thing I saw was the butcher getting let out of the squad car. What happened inbetween?
Snuck out the back window. Indian heard them and followed through the woods. Offerman convinced the father to leave so his son faces less time in jail.
It miiiight be my favorite season of a TV show ever. True Detective season 1 and The Wire season 4 were both amazing. This feels the same.
I don't think there can be enough said for the casting of this season. Between Bokeem owning every scene he is in to Offerman this last episode and Kiersten Dunst nailing her part, Patrick Wilson, Ted Danson, etc. Combined with the writing, this is as close to perfection as TV gets.
i like how each episode is slightly different stylistically that previous episodes. whether is the conversation during the credits last night, or different cuts/fades/voiceovers, it makes each episode feel unique. mike milligan reciting that poem as everyone got ready for the war was amazing. he's been the star of the show
’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. “Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!” He took his vorpal sword in hand; Long time the manxome foe he sought— So rested he by the Tumtum tree And stood awhile in thought. And, as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! And through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. “And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!” He chortled in his joy. ’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.
Kind of underrated how good Dunst has been. Her character could've easily been just annoying and ridiculous but instead she's crazy but still actually interesting. Like she's clearly 'touched' but also somewhat calculating
ted danson, in his limited role (so far) has been great as well. was really worried he was gonna die this week
The scene when he pulls over the Kitchen bros and Mike Milligan is one of my favorites of a season where almost ever scene has been memorable.
danson and bokeem are definitely my 2 favorites so far, with offerman shooting way up that list after last night.
I died when they both whip Danson the bird after he asks their shoe size and Milligan cooly responds "I'm gonna guess the boys are an 11, and not a 2. That would make them toddlers."
