That's actually a great description of Minnesotans. Not so much the city folks but the old head rural Minnesotans
They are absolutely crushing it right now. Every episode has done an amazing job of advancing the story and building tension. The dialogue on this show is top flight. Last season was great but they've transitioned from "oh, that's a funny/interesting thing said in a goofy accent" to "wow, that's an awesome thing said by a riveting character." This cast, man. Bokeem is obviously the breakout star but when he has a lighter load (like Monday) someone else steps up and crushes it. Wilson and Dunst have been consistently great and Danson, in a limited capacity, is top notch too. But even more than the big names, Molly's mother, the hairdresser from HoC, the girl in the butcher shop, the palsy kid, Bear, Hanjee, and Offerman's drinking buddy have all been great as well. I think I said it earlier but the mark of a great ensemble cast is when no one overplays their part and that's the case here.
can't believe this is only 6 episodes in. feels like so much has happened already. can't wait to see where they go from here
Was just wasting time browsing his IMBD and completely forgot about him playing rapper Massive Genius on The Sopranos. Adriana wanted that D.
loved offerman's drinking buddy just pounding beers as he watched the showdown at the jailhouse go down
One of my friends I watch the show with is at his parents for a week for Thanksgiving and last night asked if we'd wait to watch tonight's episode until he got back. My response was similar to that of Ezekiel Elliott's with regards to him potentially staying at OSU for another season.
fuck yes @vulture 5m5 minutes ago #Fargo's wintry mix of murder and deadpan humor gets a third season on @FXNetworks: http://vult.re/1OoqbZV
It's going to take a monumental fuck up of the last half of the season for this not to be the best show of the year.
"You know you're a shit cop, right?" "I guess we'll try and save the day then." Fucking Lou is the man.
Schmidt didn't live up to the "prick" description that Lou gave of him in season 1 until tonight. Was just an incompetent pussy. Talking about his promotion after being called out for being a shit cop... now you're a prick.
Seeing all the alien stuff in that room in Hank's house was strange. Here is a Wikipedia page for an alleged UFO encounter that a Minnesota county sheriff had in... 1979... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Val_Johnson_incident
Loved that and "what about my 'all or nothing' line" Danson's face when he called him a shit cop was great too
That exchange between Betsy and Karl Weathers was fucking powerful and a great reminder that for all the quips and blunt force trauma, this show has heart.
I'll admit I did want to see what a character named the undertaker was capable of before getting clipped though.
Bear is quickly climbing the character power rankings as well, def moved into the top 3 this episode.
The Butcher of Luverne is a pretty awesome sounding moniker. Dead eyes Todd pulls off that role perfectly. Their casting in both seasons has just been immaculate, can't really think of any way they could have improved on any of the major characters. As with True Detective the "different story, different cast" approach for each season makes it way more attractive to a higher level of acting talent. I'd be surprised if we didn't see more shows come out that take this approach for that reason. No movie star or high end actor wants to be tied to a project with an unknown end date, pretty much just makes it a really long movie for them.
someone said they didn't like that they made the brothers so dumb last week. i didn't agree with it then, and i definitely don't agree with it after this week's ep. very good ep for him
Just an unbelievable scene. The overhead shots with the trees. Cutting away and not even showing the shot, and then getting the aftermath as he beats his cast off his arm.
Nice...I thought S1 had very few flaws if any, so I'll be pumped if S2 can come close to matching that much less exceeding it.
Fucking love season 1. I'm extremely mad Hulu has streaming rights as I want to make my gf watch it. Season 2 is much better. If you watched True Detective S1 and loved it, Fargo S2 is what TD S2 wished it could've been.
